I want to point out that age gap has nothing to do with how believable a couple is or the chemistry ...Lots of older women are with younger men (China now has a lot of these couple so that's why you see more dramas like this): they are totally believable as a couple. Same thing with older males. If you have ever watched "Dating in the Kitchen" , the age gap is almost 20 years!!! He does look really old compared to her. I had my prejudices, but I soon forgot and just got involved in their story: they acted convincing as a couple that I forgot their age gap and became convinced that they really care for each other through their acting (not the story!). In this drama, it's not just the age gap or their story. I think sometimes the even best actors just don't coordinate well together.

This is very true! K dramas have some really big age difference between FL and ML - you don't really feel it because of the chemistry between the actors. Looking older is not a problem because of as an audience, I don't notice these things as the story unfolds and shows how believable they are as a couple. The details in the glances and gestures.
