There's bound to be some plot holes with the changes. That's for sure! The Double has so many plot holes but still does well because it's entertaining. I rather have equal time with the leads than in Who Rule the World - a lot of fillers for the ML when the FL supposed to be the main character in the novel. I think they changed the story so that XK will have more screen time. This is why I think it's probably good for the drama and more entertaining to watch.

But in the trailers, he's not serious like in the book ... they made fun of him ... see how he tripped on the stairs? :-) and other instances too.

I like him in the novel too (huge fan of this novel that I read other books by the same author!) ... But I think the new development translates to screen better ... now a days, dramas tend to include some comic relief ...

I think as long as there is couple chemistry and no plot holes, it will be good. I just finished watching The Double. They changed the plot, even made the serious duke funny, but the drama has good couple chemistry, good acting, no draggy time fillers, and happy ending ... everyone is happy and ranked it a 9.0!

I like this beginning better. It was kind boring in the book without HT ... It seems like the airplane shown in the trailer is probably when he returns to China.

I really like the couple chemistry shown in both trailers. Seven really fits this role. And I think to make HT more realistic, they changed HT's character. I like the change ... more likable ... not the typical unapproachable CEO type. XK's acting and facial expressions look good for this new role. It will be fun to watch.

As expected: 7/2 release date (YaY) ... The new trailer shows the college days? I am hoping the beginning will be changed as HT character didn't have that much presence in the beginning of the book. This will make the development much more of a surprise. With this change I expect him to be more approachable because he seems to like her from the beginning.

I posted the link up in the discussion section. I highly recommend read the original short story. It's different but I think you will get a feeling of what the concept and the characters are about. In the story, for example, ML said outright that he had a love child at 18.

Chemistry is not a bonus. It needs to be there for the drama to be successful. And ZLS seems to have chemistry with WC ... both can act for sure! That is one of the keys to look for in a drama. I don't think age gap is a problem if chemistry is there. Agism is so prevalent. Sometimes the actors themselves can overcome the agism through acting and just their natural ability. People should always be openminded and watch the drama first before giving negative comments. No one needs to hear their prejudices voiced! We all know about the obvious already.

Just finished reading the original story ... it's so sad. I think they will rewrite a lot but still, it's dealing with very heavy issues.
I think this will be a test for ZLS to show transitioning to a mature actress. It's a different role for her. Can't wait to see.
