I think it just inevitably happens when an actor has two dramas come out at the same time, someone usually finds one drama suits their tastes more than the other.
I also remember people comparing dramas for the two leads from When I Fly Towards You because BOTH of them were in other dramas tht aired at the same time 😅

Honestly from the clips I've seen My Boss does seem a little cringy (not what I was expecting). And for this one I don't really have anything against Victoria but I tend to avoid her dramas because she usually doesn't get good scripts and I'm not a big fan of her acting but I'll try this one out and hope my opinion of her will improve 🤞

Oh gosh now I'm worried because I've been waiting for more Cheng Xingxu's dramas to come out but I'm hearing bad stuff about them 😭. Haven't started yet but based on clips I also think he looks better in this one than My Boss, which is so disappointing bc he looks great in the promo poster!

Honestly I was a little disappointed when they casted Dylan (since I read the novel) but after getting used to it I'm glad the drama still lived up to my expectations as I had been looking forward to it since finding out the novel was getting a drama adaptation.
TBH I wonder how different it would have been if they chose someone more similar to the novel depiction of Shi Yan but o well! Dylan did a pretty good job adapting to Shi Yan's character so also glad to see he is able to take on a role like this and make it his own.

Even if the characters were not similar surely you should see potential in wyl's acting after I am Nobody? In fact I would love to see some role diversity in an acting career and seeing how she is near my age is impressing me.
And I think a lot of novel readers including myself see her potential to act out ting yan's unambitious salted fish personality.

This was one of my first cnovels. but guys, knowing how drama adaptations are theyre probably gonna take away the rebirth element from the script. hopefully the key points of the story are still the same.

Same, I enjoyed it bc of all the drama lol. It kinda reminds me of those old Kdramas like My Girl or The Innocent Man with how much of a rollercoaster of drama it was 😂.

There's 43 eps so it's listed wrong on MDL. and idk why netflix is broken so if you're viewing the show and go to episodes list it only goes to 40 and you have to exit the episode and click on 41 from the show page (sorry idk how to explain better).
