that's good to hear! I am so tempted to start watching it rn but I want to read first bc watching is easier for me to do than reading so I might never get to reading it XD. I also remember reading go go squid novel once I heard the drama was being produced and then I watched the drama and it also followed the novel closely (the novel was lowkey more steamy tho haha!)

This time I hadn't heard any news about this drama for some reason so I am late to the game lolol. I guess we can always count on the drama adaptations to MBFB's novels!

Now that this drama is out I can finally motivate myself to read the novel which I have been putting of bc the last MBFB novel I read almost put me to sleep and kinda put me off on reading more of her novels.. TT

honestly I agree. I am a bad romantic tho so I'm glad the novel ended on a more 'amiable' note but it's true he really didn't deserve her or repent enough for what he did to her. I kind of wanted the drama to portray what Ji Man went through in the novel though bc like @BearFightingFanBackAgain said I loved the novel for showing how strong Ji Man was depite all the sht that happened to her (and I suppose from a historical standpoint she won bc she got the man and kept her position as the main wife. or she could've ditched him and left the dream LOL)

But this drama version is definitely better for viewership and I've only seen clips so far but it looks promising!

Wow, I read the novel for this and its one of my favorite novels but the drama looks completely different. I liked the melodramatic undertone of the novel but I guess it would not be very popular for tv viewership following the current trends since the ML was a huge scumbag lol.

I'll definitely be watching this for PXR and Ryan though haha

Tbh I couldn't really see Dylan as Shi Yan since I read the novel and was expecting someone a bit older/more mature looking (like lowkey wei zhe ming reminds me more of Shi Yan), but I'm sure he will do a good job and make the character his own.
And I'm glad to see they kept Shi Yan's glasses in the drama haha

Also I see everyone cursing MangoTv LOL. I suggest reading the webnovel if you want to watch this drama when it airs, might help with comprehending the scenes at least. I personally really liked the novel (it even made me cry but i also get emotional easily for fictional stories oop).

I usually like cliches but this drama was too much. They stuffed every single possible plot device into the script and overdid it. The only reason I finished was because I was just that bored and started having fun laughing at how unbelievably cringy the entire show was.
