To be a Virtuous Wife was a good read but I think watching it as a drama would give me a headache because of the harem aspect lol. Still interesting to see though since I like ancient costume drama hehe
tbh only bumped my 7.0 rating to 7.5 because despite the poorly written plot the cgi and osts are really nice. Ratings aren't the greatest for this drama but I didn't feel like it was a waste of my time since I watched most of it while it was airing. If you're on the fence about it I say just give it a try :)
man i was really into the drama up until those two came in ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ initially i was all woo first time 40 episode…
FR the drama definitely could've done without that arc, it felt so randomly inserted into the plot. I'm not sure if it was in the original novel or not, but if it was maybe the author was running out of ideas lmao. At least it helped to show how strong their relationship has grown and that Mi Ka is not a pushover!
the random green tea b*tch really made my day. There was this one chinese comment asking if these sisters had transmigrated to this drama from a historical drama lmfaoo
I wanted to watch something while I was knitting so I just chose this because it's been on my list for a while but I never get to watching japanese films. It was a bit sloppily put together because I think they were trying to be artistic (lol) but I could still vaguely understand what was going on with the 2nd incident/ending. I can understand how people thought it was a waste of time because of that - I didn't really think so because I just needed something to watch while I was knitting so I guess I would recommend watching this while doing something else if you don't want any regrets.
I mean, this drama was based off a webtoon and the story/script was probably already written before they even casted people. It just happened that she got cast for a role younger than her actual age, nothing they can really do about it unless they want to change the plot.
I still don't get why it's called lovely swords girl? anyone? she only used a sword once and she wasn't really…
I agree. The Chinese title translated more literally is like Love in Jianghu (jianghu is martial arts society). Guess they wanted a prettier translation but it doesn't make sense haha
does anyone know what ended up happening to the authors fight with her publication company? I'm wondering how they are making this into a drama if the author couldnt even continue updating bc of that whole fiasco.. I'd also really like to read the end of the manhua before this comes out T-T
I think the comment section is so divided, either you love and think this is the best drama ever or you hate it…
I never really noticed that until everyone started commenting how interesting the comment section is lol. I'm actually in between, like it definitely wasn't perfect but I didn't feel like it was a waste of my time. It's maybe worth watching or even just skimming through for plot points and some nice acting honestly. To describe it simply, it was just OK lolol
the pacing of this drama is just great honestly. the progression of miao yu and wang chen's relationship is completely realistic from enemies, to friends, and finally to lovers! this isn't the typical "BAM I love you" romance but more of a slow burn romance where we can clearly see the characters inching closer and most importantly supporting one another. I have to say, Miao yu and Wang chen are the most well matched characters I've seen in a while >< I recommend this if you're looking for something light yet rich with character development :)
I started the first episode while cleaning my house, then it took me a whole day to keep going at it but when I did I ended up binging it all. hmm, I'd say this is worth watching for the plot, cast, and fiction if you aren't super nitpicky, but there are definitely some questionable moments with the emotional aspect of the drama..
1 would be that I didn't understand how she even started liking him. it was like her feelings just spontaneously developed at one moment. 2 would be her weepiness everytime they reunited lmao but honestly I just laughed at the cringe and moved on.
1 main thing I loved in this was the doppleganger theory where only one can survive so the other must die. I randomly saw it explained before in HxH (have yet to watch tht series) and it was cool seeing it applied here as well. EDIT: Forgot to mention but I also really loved the duality of the cast when acting as 2 different characters. Very skillful acting from woo do hwan and kim go eun :)
Tbh I think his face would suit a villain role really well compared this haha
I was watching it without subs.
