Yes, you put it all into words perfectly!I'm glad Yuri got to hear Seowoo call her "mom" at least once, but it…
Ooh that last meal reference is really interesting, I've never thought about it like that! Honestly I was most worried about the mom and I loved how there was no big dramatic scene — she knew that Yuri had to leave and had come to terms with it, and they understood each other without having to say a word.
Man, I actually don't know if things would've just fallen into place if she had stayed — I feel like Yuri's death honestly changed things forever. Both sticking with Seowoo and letting her go seem like bad decisions and I don't think Yuri could've done either one with a clear conscience. Even Gang-Hwa and Yuri probably couldn't ever be the same again — Yuri coming back to life didn't magically fix his trauma and I feel like kind of like Yuri's mom he needed her to leave so he could come to terms with his grieving.
This is such an interesting drama with so many "what-ifs" to think about...
I’m with you all the way.Rarely a show has an impact on me the way this one did. The only one I remember was…
Yes, you put it all into words perfectly!
I'm glad Yuri got to hear Seowoo call her "mom" at least once, but it only makes sense for Minjeong to be that to her; I was worried they would double down on the "unbreakable tie between birth mom and child" thing that's in a lot of dramas, but this show really emphasized how family is the people who have always been there for you, whether you're related by blood or not.
I agree about Gang-hwa — even though he might've liked her, their relationship seemed very robotic all the time and he never got to that teasing, comfortable position he had with Yuri. In my head, the final ending was that Gang-hwa and Minjeong went ahead with the divorce but decided to co-raise Seowoo — I feel like they're great people independently but just not as a couple.
I feel like the "stop Seo-woo from seeing ghosts" reasoning might be a weakness I'd attribute more to the writing than to Yuri as a character, as I felt like the world-building on this aspect could've been better, but overall yes, it was a really good drama and I feel like it's already underrated!
MDL surprises me sometimes, one of the worst dramas in recent years still ends up close to 8.0...
I feel like it's gotta be recency bias — MDL's ratings are always a little bit bloated when the drama goes on + a little after, but it'll start declining hopefully
Quickly rising to be one of my favorites. My heart hurts for BK but I'm firmly on the Haru ship because of how much he respects Dan-oh's autonomy, always saying that Dan-oh is her own person and that their pre-determined roles don't matter. Dan-oh is also such a relatable and likable character — she doesn't do things because "I love this guy" but there's such a huge emphasis on her wanting to change her story so she can live life for HERSELF, and that's some strength and independence that is missing so much from a lot of main female leads in kdrama. I LOVE THEM
Hah, you're welcome!Thank you for recommending I Do I Do, which I added to my watch list. I honestly debated whether…
I will add Doctor X to my watch list also! I'm pretty good at suspending my disbelief when watching things, so we'll see about "not realistic", haha.
News: I just finished Attention, Love! and dang, I really didn't like it :( Thought the plot was just one misunderstanding and miscommunication after another.

In Time With You was recommended by a good friend of mine so I definitely plan to watch that also! I've also heard of Attention Love, but since I'm pretty new to the drama universe and Asian celebrities altogether, honestly "idol" doesn't mean much to me yet!

I started off watching Taiwanese dramas before Chinese dramas because I would be more used to the dialect, but the ones I watched were really poorly written or not my style :/ I'm still in the middle of Autumn's Concerto though!

Ooh yes, cotton candy is a good way to describe Put Your Head on My Shoulder—it might not be good for someone who wanted lots of drama, but I love a light-hearted series every once in a while. I agree with you about Korean cinematography, and it feels like K-dramas often start out strong but then lose steam. Chinese dramas are also really bad at pacing in my opinion; so many of them have 30-40 episodes when the story could've been told in half of that. I've actually never watched a Japanese drama but am excited to try them soon!
Hahaha I wanted to watch Sweet Combat and I thank you for saving me from it even though I love Ivy Chen.Yeah,…
Hah, you're welcome! Thank you for recommending I Do I Do, which I added to my watch list. I honestly debated whether or not I should watch this for a long time as I didn't think I was that interested in the subject matter either, but I ended up really liking it!
