I really like the OST for Fall in Love at First Sight! I feel delighted that not only is she incredible at singing, she's also convincing at acting too.
Not sure why, but this may have been my most favourite adaption of this franchise yet! The couple seemed... real? Not at all forced and unnatural like the other adaptions. They were also enjoyable, don't get me wrong but the tangible compatibility of the main leads surprisingly made me less stress throughout the same old story. I think it deserves a solid 7.5/10. The OST is beautiful btw!

I am not a Fukada Kyouko fan, but I like that she knows where her niche is! She is the queen of romance dramas, not because of her acting (lol sorry) but because she looks like an anime character-come-to-life! Plus her comedic timing is absolutely fantastic, explained by her loooong years of experience!
What I love about Ryuusei is his ability to create believable micro-expressions. I mention "believable" because many actors as of the late are generally alright at acting, but they are PAAAAINFULLY obviously acting. You can see that the character isn't real. What's beautiful about Ryuusei's ability is that he is able to breathe life into the 2D Yuri character that I like so much from the manga. He makes Yuri actually seem like a boy with a life. When he is with his friends, he has a different set of expression all together than when he is with his beloved Junko. I like it, it's refreshing to see an actor like this! Very very excited to see his career bloom!
What have you done to me Heavy Sweetness, Ash-like Frost? I can't move on from you. Nothing measures up. I can't forget the thrill that Runyu gave me and the feels rollercoaster I was on thanks to Xu Feng and Jin Mi. The last time I felt this way was for Queen for Seven Days and that one took me 6 months to recover from :'(
The plot: ambitious, yet not as thoroughly fleshed out. The pairing: cute, everyone was just so cute. The cinematography: excellent, as expected. Chinese costume dramas are always breathtaking. The emotional investment factor: unfortunately, low :(
It had a fun romcom-like beginning, then it tried to mix wuxia angst with that romcom/ first love/ spring feels. Then it added in melodrama, all the while trying to maintain that cute-sy feel. What we got in the end is a binge-watch worthy drama but not a memorable one. A bit disappointed. This could have been the costume version of A Love So Beautiful or actually go to suspense land like Empress Ki. It tried to do what Ashes of Love tried to do (still amazed at how beautifully they blended the genres in that one).
Does this mean that I didn't like it? NOOO. I liked it! It was a good show. I am just leaving an honest opinion here :) I'd say it is a 7.5/10. Have a nice day y'all~!
The original was such a beautiful mess (this is a compliment). With modern production quality and excellent cast, I am so excited to see the chaos unfold before us!
At the same time, I don't understand how someone seeming so "good-girl-like" as Bebe turned into a somewhat narcissistic basic bitch? She's not a bad person at all, but she's taking city girl troupe a bit far. Just seems like an airhead sometimes. Her high school self just seems like a different person from this character she has become.
