okay, one thing i want to point out after reading a lot of comments on here: the apology outside the restaurant before FL passes out IS NOT THE REAL APOLOGY. ML does not forgive her after that, he only realizes that there might be something more and that she might not have acted without reason (confirmed by FLs little sister telling him she is actually pretty insecure) so he decides to give her a chance at the real apology.

when watching the scene (the passing out) i was also begging for that not to be the apology bc i would never have been fine with it but i was really happy when zhuang jie properly apologized and explained bc that is how you handle conflict

i think the main point here is that you can't rationalize human emotion. in ep 15, FL was in a state of self-denial that she only broke out of bc it exploded in her face

saying you should do something is always easer than doing something

in my book, i would not call her toxic but zhuang jie can definitely be considered selfish - its interesting bc not only can you see it in her action but in her talk with the ex, she is also very aware of it

the guy has been in love with her since high school - and she had been crushing on him then too. trust me, chen maidong had always been into her flirting and fully aware of the situation

thats the entire point of this drama, i think - its telling you that you dont have to be perfect and that you can overcome your difficulties bc in the end, they are worth it

i kept pausing too .. it took me three hours to watch the two episodes bc i kept pausing sldkf

while there are some frustrating takes about the fl, i feel like this comment section is taking her character better than i expected based on comments on other dramas flskdfj when i first came to the comment section after watching the episodes, i was expecting to see everything burn but a lot are understanding - the rest dont matter :)

2. first kiss in episode 5, its a lot harder to pinpoint when they start dating. chen maidong asks the "what are we" in episode 11 and have their first "official" date in episode 12

the end of episode 16 made everything worth it in my book flskdfjslk they really opened up to each other and are very much alive !!!

according to what i have seen, 28k can be understand as mainstream popularity for tencent dramas - it is better than was initially expected for the drama which is fantastic :)

i second you are my glory! its currently my fav modern cdrama (and WLIS will surely join it)

i would suggest watching at least episode 16 and to decide whether to drop the drama then. the drama itself clearly communicates that it was wrong of zhuang jie to say that but it also does a good job of explaining why she behaved the way she did

i love that the grandma actually went there in a livestream flskdfjls hearing her comment made me start the drama

this is one of the reasons i love wang xixia calling her out this harshly. zhuang jie needed to hear that she was wrong and needed to face her insecurities - or at least let chen maidong see that she is not as strong as she appears to be. and she does open up about it bc she knows that she is in love with him. it is still scary, but it is what chen maidong deserves.

these two episodes were all about unravelling her well-maintained character to its core - her deep insecurities. only facing that she can heal :)
