This is very uncomfortable : a singer falling in love with his stalker. Does anyone else have a problem with this? Stalking is not cute. Not even if it is done with best intentions. It is scarry and creepy.
I am a 10month old baby in the world of Kdrama so thank you very much for this article: I am still finding my feet in this Wonderland! I totally agree with you on Because This Is My First Life and i would add in that" slice of life" category Something in The Rain which I found more accessible to my European taste last May though I have learned a lot since. On the other hand, I hated Goblin! I found it awful, uncomfortable (900yr old dating a 19yr old: it creeped me out though the bromance was extraordinary !). It was the 4th Kdrama I ever watched and I am fan of fantasy but it almost made me drop out! There is one category missing in which Kdrama excells; melodrama! And another one very hard to findoutside Asia: time travel! Any chance of a second part of your article please?
This is such a feel-good, quirky and funny drama, a perfect watch if you are looking for something light with a touch of magic! The actors are all excellent, have great chemistry and were obviously having a lot of fun making this!
Can someone please recommend me some dramas with a similar vibe? Two average people (not super-rich, famous, super-powered,…
Something in the rain, Because this is my first life, Love affairs in the afternoon, Temperature of love, Chocolate, Happy loner, Search:WWW..... Enjoy! This kind of drama is my favourite,a slice of life, almost realistic but still having the warmth and dreamy feelings that touch your soul.
I actually dropped this drama a few months ago after the first episode but couldn't stay away: I just love the title so I gave it another go and now I am so wrapped into it: it is slow, soft, warm... the smalltown life is almost idyllic. It is just like a cozy blanket in this harsh winter that keeps you happy! If you need something soothing and nice (but also dealing with an extremely serious issue of domestic abuse) and not boring or annoying, try this! You'll love it! Seo Kang Joon is just perfect, definitely the best actor of his generation who manages to convey feelings just with a subtle changes in his expression! The only thing that gave me an off feeling were high school scenes with Park Min Young: she was obviously too old (34) to play a teenager!
YESSSSSSSSS! OH this is sooooo true!I was wondering if anybody wrote this kind of article and lo and behold thanks to a new article that came out today I found it! I started watching Kdramas a year ago and it took me a total of three dramas(Goblin, CLOY, DOTS) to figure out the concept! And to get nevertheless seriously addicted! You wrote this 8 years ago but the rom coms are still the same! I would like to know why? Anybody?
No, no and NO! This is not what I've just seen. The first two episodes are great and then it becomes so repetitive and annoying. The romance is unconvincing, the leads have less than zero chemistry together. The FL acts like an 5 yr old. The ML is annoying with his advices. The good, because there is good, are the side characters and the poems which are the great idea to frame the show. So I really do not agree with your review....what a waste of a good idea! I like dramas that are close to reality but this one just misses its mark completely!
Ok so this drama had a brilliant start. Two first episodes were perfect. Then it is downhill all the way, not a gentle slope but a free fall to a disaster.... The main characters have no development, they seem never to learn and keep repeating ridiculous behaviour and, as we are all human we all repeat our mistakes but here it is just the same thing over and over again. The saving grace are the secondary characters and poems. What a disappointment! And Lee Yoo Bi is one of the worst actresses there is! She has zero chemistry with her partners(see her other works...shudder at the thought!) and is always playing cute whether it is required or not!
I have seen three of her dramas( Scholar, Poem, Pinocchio) and each was a bigger disapointment than the previous one. She is pretty and cute and her acting skills are the same pretty and cute but not good. She had zero chemistry with all her partners and she ruined perfectly good dramas with her overacting and eye rolling and by just being cute where it was not needed...What a waste!
The main actress is totally charisma free and basically ruins every drama she's in : just look at The Scholar Who walks in the Night and Pinocchio.... a disaster!
This makes me think of Agatha Christie's "And Then There Were None" (formerly known by its non PC title Ten Little Indians). Who is behind all these deaths? I'm almost halfway through so......
I just finished binge watch Ji Sung drama, “Save the Last Dance for me” and “Delicious Proposal”. Have…
Thank you : I've already seen three of those and I liked them. I'll try the others now! I rewatched Secret because i was a bit frustrated with Save the Last Dance and I needed some high quality Ji Sung drama though I managed to finish it afterwards! It was OK in the end!
Enjoy! This kind of drama is my favourite,a slice of life, almost realistic but still having the warmth and dreamy feelings that touch your soul.
