Title Ouroboros
I guess they couldn't find anyone else to play Yuiko-sensei. Otherwise, a great dorama. I especially love the trio of good cops played by Yoshida Yoh, Takito Kenichi and Yoshida Kotaro. And oh, there's Deeptown Fukamachi and Tatsuya's legion of foreign-looking lawyers for the laughs as well
On Shitamachi Rocket Season 2 Feb 5, 2026
Both seasons are almost perfect, blotted only by the presence of a certain midget actress. I mean, Abe Hiroshi is nearly 2 meters tall and Maya Miki is more than 165 cm tall, so why is their daughter a midget at 150 cm? I dont remember any mention of her being adopted. (I dont care what her fans say, this "actress" is nothing more than a pretty face, she cant act shit)

emoto tokio is annoying and the subtitler knows 0 about BL, still, an 8 from me.
On Massage Tantei Joe Jan 27, 2026
I removed one star thanks to the annoying female colleague of Joe's. Thanks to her annoying shrill voice and antics, not even Ozawa Yukiyoshi or the Tiger & Bunny references can make me give this drama a 9. What a pity.
On Kenshiro ni Yoroshiku Jan 10, 2026
kind of reminds me of Satsui no Michinori (aka The Road to Murder, also penned by Bakarythm). I liked this drama enough to check out the manga and the recommended drama (an older one called Massage Detective Joe)

can someone explain the scene where satomi's mom gives a piece of fish skin to his dad? I think I kinda understood…
his father's expression is kinda blissful / touched instead of "eww! you know I hate fish skin" so it's the other way around for me
On Let's Go Karaoke! Jan 3, 2026
so many things to like / find interesting in one movie! Satomi's Japanese translation of Yoshiki's "English" (which I have always cringed at and thought as the only bad part of a good song) from Kurenai actually sounds much better than the original, and the subber did a good job too.

And Kitamura Kazuki as the boss is a surprise bonus!

I must now hunt down the manga and read it!

[About the BL/shipping part: I am into BL, not shota or pedo stuff. No way unless it is years later when Satomi is 40 and responding to 65-year-old Narita's call for help due to the old folks' home holding a karaoke contest or something]

this is much better than Ikeido's other attempt at mixing semi-professional sports and business (Roosevelt's Game)

Just found out in this came out a few months before the Ace Attorney movie! Cross-examining a ghost > cross-examining a parrot, right?

wow, it's not as dated as I thought it would be. I can definitely imagine all 4 analogies being made in 2025, with just some superficial updates of the hardware (e.g. button to touchscreen phones). The concepts still work.

My favorite is the one based on Chuushingura (Samurai Cellphone). The Marriage Simulator chapter seems problematic for that time line: Would a typical household still own a video cassette player in 2010? Or is it really problematic? You'll have to watch till the end to decide!

I am at episode 2 and struggling to get through it. The show is what it says it's about, however the approach…
also I cant forget that she is just the right height to have a whiff of the ML's armpit. I really dislike when they pair midget female actor with bean pole male actor. Without her heels the top of her head would be staring at his kidneys I guess. I dont mind the other way around though (short guys vs tall ladies)
On Goodbye Ghosts! Oct 9, 2025
sorry, I cant get into this. The FLs are annoying, the ML is a tool. The only silver lining is the supporting cast such as the late but not forgotten Osugi Ren (ML's dad), Hamada Kokone (the child shinigami) and Nomaguchi Toru (shinigami in suits).

then i realized i should have read the tags. Every time a show is adapted from shojo manga, I am most likely to hate it. If this were shonen, the plot would have focused more on the shinigami part instead of the boring hetero romance stuff.

Loved this show and hope there's a sequel!Just a bit confused about the transition between Episode 9 and Episode…
she took the last bus to the future along with Kiyoshi

despite being osshii (which literally means disappointing) the ending is sooo satisfying. A certain character is the sexiest version of Moriarty yet. Kudos to the subtitler Carameltz for spotting and pointing out the easter egg!
On Life: Love on the Line Sep 17, 2025
i was not sure i wanted to listen to the Drama CD version since it starred two voice actors whose voice I had trouble telling apart in another drama CD. But after randomly deciding to watch the live action and finding it quite tolerable I finally got in the mood to give the Drama CD a try. And as usual I find drama CD version less cringy than live actions BLs, also the VAs are not too bad aside from after the age 60 when Yuki's VA deepened his voice to his natural range, which is similar to Akira's. And yes, the bonus for an unromantic old person like me, it is interesting to find out what happened to them after the age of 40.

I like this drama but so many questions feel unanswered to me. Why did FL not remember the "first round" when they were all friends, the four of them? Why did this one guy (or his poster) appear just before FL died, at least 2 out of 5 times?
