I love that they spent a bit more time with the younger actors than usual. At some point, the little ones really pulled me in and I started dreading the moment they'd become adults. The episode contextualised the surface level palace politics, relationships , and it also follows the rarely seen people of saeguks. The backstage staff aka the palace staff and how they're indoctrinated into living their whole lives only for their masters.I look forward to understanding a bit more of the main characters' motivations and goals. For now, flowers on flowers on flowers to the young cast!A random thought I had as the ending stills flashed by was, the first episode alone could have been a movie on missed opportunities and unfulfilled fate.

This is one of, if not my favorite episode in the show. Just because it was the most hard hitting in terms of writing and acting, the character motivations etc.And last but not least our main leads' outstanding performance broke me to the core. One of the other reviews did say it was a bit boring and I agree, but I believe the way it ended made it stand out amongst this season's episodes.

This episode did everything right this time around, I feel they got things done in this one episode than the last 2. We got a bit more of the lore, new information and stakes were raised perfect at the end for my favorite characters, aka the villains.Awesome!!!

All of a sudden, we have a killer on the loose. A beloved and short lived character gone. Are you okay writer-nim?
