i don't like the drama itself but i really love the concept of it. the concept of a never-ending summer romance and the concept of a second chance romance. the script wasn't handled well enough to praise it but i admit i kinda ruined it for myself too.
the story captured me in the first few seconds into the drama but that also made me focus on what could have happened that made them break apart for so long. like until the 13th episode, my main focus was on "how their breakup happened" more than their budding romance. i bet it was beautiful but i can't remember a lot of it, so i did kinda ruin it for myself. the story around what her mother did was dropped in bits and pieces so that was annoying. it happened like 4 times btw.
when the big incident in 13th episode, that's when my focus went back to them and i felt like i developed some emotional attachment to the story around those episodes and that attachment even though on and off, it kept me going until the last episode.
everyone is hating FL in the comments but i personally don't resent her at all but that might be because i didn't feel any strong emotions towards any character in this drama except ML's father and FL's mother, that too was just mild hate they didn't really distrub my peace or anything. i couldn't connect to xixiao as a character so naturally it didn't feel frustrating when FL was betraying him again and again.
the story isn't well written and they went off the track many times but if we had to compare i would say i really liked their little runaway before the ultimate breakup and was more excited during their adult romance than the rest of the show. the last episode especially, i really loved how it flowed and how it ended, loved it so much that i was gonna give it a 7 but became an 8 because of the last episode.
if you read this you are gonna be like "then what did you even like about this show?" like i said, i liked the concept of it all and concepts are rarely well done in cdramas. with a correct no nonsense straight to the point script, this never-ending summer could really have been a never-ending summer.
Why would the Board care about their company using dodgy methods to acquire land. This method is used across the…
idk what you guys are discussing in the long comments but here is shorter answer. in the real world it ain't that simple but this is a drama and i am pretty sure the script writers guessed we don't want to see another 3-4 eps zhou wan and xixiao fighting for justice or something so they ended that quick
at 13th ep, and i still don't get what was the big thing that happened that broke them apart for 10 years because everything that could ever happen has already happened. she lied to him so many times and he looks like he will forgive her even if she stabs a knife through his heart...
wow what a family! SML seems be the mistress's son (not clear yet), ML is the son of the main wife who is dead and FL is the daughter of the current wife from a previous marriage. ML's father is really something else. they are all connected by him as step siblings omg, kinda confusing and also disgusting but i am making peace with the fact the FL is not blood related to any of them...
subtitles so bad that even the english lyrics that i can clearly hear and understand are somehow wrongly subbed, congratulations mangotv you guys are so consistent in fucking up the subs π
well, just finished it and i have a few things to say. editing is really bad, you can just tell that it's kinda low budget. i don't mean our AI prince WRH. i understand that they were desperate to release and used the only method they could and i would rather have this than it collect dust on their shelf. i am just talking about the overall editing, transition between scenes and such, very badly done.
romance itself is just a drag but this one had pretty good chemi between the leads so even little romance and dating era at the end seemed sweet enough. apart from a few things, i just felt like plot itself without the romance was pretty good. romance just seemed more background.
never saw anything from tjc and i am pretty impressed, will look forward to future works. my girl churan did awesome as always hihi and ofc i will be in the front seat for all her future shows. i really hope these two can collab again, this script can barely hold their chemistry, they need something better for themselves.
don't tell me they are gonna start dating in the last ep. do script writers not know that there are other things to make the story interesting once the relationship starts? they treat romance as if it's a life line, drag it till the end and end up annoying everyone. so stupid who is giving jobs to these people???
i really hate it when FL's don't defend themselves LIKE GIRL EXPLAIN YOURSELF ABOUT YOUR FRIENDS COMPANY THING DON'T STAND THERE LIKE AN IDIOT IT'S SO FRUSTRATING ππππ
dropped at ep 6, i noticed that it was a bit similar to LBL but overall just very annoying and doesn't have any element that would make you sit and watch 36 eps of it

that's it then, 6.5/10. kinda low ik.
