very interesting villian character. he doesn't even have the strength to fight for his own life but his mind does. calculating and carefully assigning a scapegoat before doing anything bad. surprisingly it wasn't that bad. 8.5/10
guys trust me just skip it. that was 9 eps of filler forcefully sticked together with glue. there are some cute moments but i don't think they are enough to make you sit through it all. this is the first time i watched a whole series on 2x.
s1 was cringe with poorly written plot but this is just cringe with cringe. i get the downfall actually.
at this point, i am just watching to know if keif and jj actually end up together, for some kind of clourse i think. i couldn't care less about anything else in this show.
i like how most modern cdramas focus on a particular industry/field. i don't know (and actually don't care) if it's just bluff to show off the country progress or things in china actually run like this but it's still positive influence on the viewers. they are atleast selling worthwhile visions and ambitions on the younger generation. i can take one look at the currently releasing media from my own country and say that we are nowhere near.
as for the drama itself, i thought it was gonna be a 10/10 but sadly that's not happening. it's grandson of big name x daughter of big name, i love myself some rich x rich power balance romance since it doesn't happen that often.
it started off slow but i didn't really mind that. later i was more puzzled on why he was treating her like that but since it was still a mystery, it kept me entertained. then came the chasing arc, which was very straightforward. he genuinely asked her about it so it was very sweet. there's nothing not to love about this story. it's a smooth sailing romance with no major setbacks but the problem is they dragged the chasing arc too long. with nothing much going on in between, it would have been better if they had started the relationship a bit quicker. i was starting to lose interest but after the relationship started i thought things got better and I was much more invested. also, thank you very much for a whole episode of their married life. i really loved that.
but why was zhang xu even present till the end? i would get it if the FL still had some lingering feelings or if he showed up to make trouble for our main cp or if he had some story of his own but none of that was happening. i really don't get why they decided not to solve their misunderstanding during the earlier episodes. it would have made much more sense. he constantly appeared on the screen but had no attachment to the story. i am pretty sure no one cares about his self regret arc so why?
anyways, i was going to give it a 7 but since the later eps picked up the pace and left a good impression by the end I am gonna give it a 8/10.

for this one, i actually thought things got so better and interesting after they started their relationship. give it a try if you are up for 24 eps of chasing arc. reward is sweet though.

it took 24 eps guys. if slowburn yearning/chasing isn't for you then maybe stay away. i didn't know it would get this frustrating even without any major plotlines and second lead intrusions.

and don't tell me this zhang xu will still be hoping for a chance because of what she said. actually don't tell me i am gonna stay up all night to watch it all and find it out myself. my cousin who recommended this said that zhang xu doesn't show up again until towards the end so i am guessing it won't be that frustrating.
i feel like i am going to enjoy this it's pretty good.
