that recap, oh god that was just so perfect. it's sad that han ting died before ji xing, but i guess that's just life. besides, they have had their happy years together :)
finally managed to finish it, let's see what i have to say.
let's start with wabi sabi and new siwaj.β it's been a while. after their hit series uwma, i watched between us, which i dropped and maybe watched a few from new because he works with gmmtv a lot. i have to say wabi sabi productions and new siwaj didn't improve a bit. you can still see his signature dry humour, long silence, weak dialogues and awkward camera angles.
hill-ter, i originally started it because i liked pond in 180 degrees & century of love and even though i didn't have high expectations from wabi sabi, i was really looking forward to watch him pair up with earth. well, i started it as soon as the 1st episode aired and i thought it was good enough, and until 3rd or 4th ep it was all nice. then the damage started when they decided to stretch that tiny ass plot to fit in almost all the eps and i am like 'girl just get away from me'. even new probably knows their story doesn't have much to work with because why the hell did he arrange all the flashbacks in reverse and confused the fuck out of us? i was really disappointed and annoyed. and because of my annoyance, i started finding flaws whenever they are on screen. pond's acting was ok i guess and earth was so whiny all the time, i don't even remember anything about his acting. i watched their later screen time on 2x. overall, i give their story a 4.5 β.
johan-north, i am going to be honest, their story is nothing groundbreaking but comparatively so much better than hill-ter. and i am so happy that the flashback scenes were handled well, like all together in a one ep. it made so much more sense. i just enjoyed watching it but it wasn't anything super special. acting is kinda ok i guess and here too, north is a whiny ass character but since i wasn't super annoyed or anything i am going to be generous and give their story an 8β.
fah-phoon, these bitches be cooking. that sexual tension is amazing and they seem to have quite the flashback but lets hope new doesn't mess that up. i am so excited for their story.
arthit-dao, did they even show up in the same screen during the entire 17 eps? no i don't think so. they should have given a intro to them because besides their little scenes from trailers, i don't even have anything to expect. also, i hope their story doesn't have a flashback like the other 3 couples and starts entirely in the university.
i still think it would have been great if each couple had 4 eps each and we could have been done with it all at once. or perfect distribution of 8 eps each but here we are. i am really really really hoping this mess doesn't happen in part 2.
i will definitely watch part 2, which i don't think is coming soon or even coming at all with some of the things i have read online but we will never lose hope.
music is good, acting is ok, probably will never rewatch it, and for the story as a whole i will average it as a 7β.
i watched a short where the ML in japanese version looked so hot and decided to add the japanese version to my ptw.
when there are remakes, i usually like to make comparisons just like every normal person but i watched this very long ago like when it was just done airing. i don't even remember anything so i thought i would just rewatch this to freshen up my memory and compare which scenes were done better or something like that before officially starting the japanese one but now i am just left questioning my thought process which led me to rewatching this nonsense. i do remember not liking it all that much but i honestly don't know how i sat through the whole thing the 1st time around and gave it a 7π.
i know nothing will happen to him but god i cried hard during 15th ep i just finished that ep and i think i need a big break before i go to the next ep totally drained my energy π
i don't expect a lot of romance but i still need it since this drama caught my interest because of the main pair. so just to give me an idea, those of you who finished it, how much % of the story is romance out of 100?
description says LITA, DSN and WP share a universe, i understand LITA and WP since the characters of LITA appear in WP but DSN? how did that come to be?
what an excellent team of demon catchers mu yao has gathered... a full demon, a half-demon and a modern era girl who is stuck in a novel lol π
10 eps in, so far good but it hasn't exclusively caught my attention where i just sit and not get up until i am done watching all the eps but i am enjoying it enough to watch 3-5 eps per day. and i just love their chemistry so much so it also gives me time to savour it slowly, a little of it everyday.
idk why it didn't strike me when i was watching the 2024 lineup of gmmtv my mind must be off but i just watched the official trailer and realized that this is something i actually wanted to watch a really long time ago. you know like exo's next door and got7's dream knight, it was around that time i got into BL and i really wanted a BL version when i watched those two. gmmtv is doing just that after 9 years and this one actually has more depth and revolves around the group, just like what i wanted. i was almost going to miss it because i had no plans of even watching the trailer but it auto-played and now i will be tuning in every week :)
ok i watched the first two eps. the main couple had an ok chemistry but their horrendous acting was messing it all up. i skipped those 5 or so minutes the second couple were on screen. the plot has interesting elements but it just isn't enough to make you go to the next ep. and you know what? i actually would have watched it till the end if i had nothing to watch but right now i have better things to watch so i will just drop it at ep 2. 2/10, thin chances but maybe i will pick it up a few months later :>
i was really struggling to finish it. tbh if my completionism(?) wasn't so severe i really wouldn't be able to sit through. the brothers story is just... nah. i fast forwarded everytime they were on the screen. teng muren and licheng have chemistry but their story wasn't anything interesting. like how did this franchise go from trapped & modc to this? so disappointing, 7/10.
not really the best story but i do think i would've enjoyed it much more if the youtube uploads didn't have so many sound cuts i know it's to avoid copyright but still it ruined my experience and also the fucked up subtitles, i don't remember it being this bad when i watched it for the first time. anyways, 4/10 i guess since i watched it all on 2x.
10/10, i cried like a baby

i started it again like 2 months ago, watched until the 5th ep (mostly on 2x) and then put it on hold for a while and it's going to my dropped list today. and now i don't even think i will go for the japanese one. i really should stop watching series just because the actors are handsome π©
anyways, 3β. i don't think i have ever given a lesser rating.
