that’s one of my irks watching shenmo drama where they are written more humanly than human. i find it hard to believe that they are alive for tens of thousands of years and they care so much about segregation etc, epsecially since a lot of it stems from buddhist and hindu teaching (pls correct me if i’m wrong) where they preach unworldliness

that’s why i prefer an antihero or a villain ml instead, at least with them we know where they stand

he manhandled her and was physically harassing her, choking her etc. it was a hard scene to watch tbh in ep 7.

from the trailers of the next two episodes, ep 22 and 23, it seems like ml was also involved with the experiment as well, but how involved is he? bcs from the look of it, some of his memory is inaccurate, especially in regard to mr xu or noah.

i initially thought this was a transmigration gone wrong drama, but now it seems more like memory f*ck kinda thing. so now i’m curious if the ‘parallel world’ did happen or was it just part of the mind f*ck?

at first, it seems like a straightforward drama about transmigrating into a parallel universe but as the drama went on, we see that there’s a lot more to it. and there’s also the charged atmosphere between the leads and their love hate relationship going on

honestly i hate the trope that they use in xianxia drama like in this one, ‘you can’t go against your fate’ bs so i’m pausing this untilt he current arc ends. homegirl deserves better tbh

i’m not negating your comment but was just trying to rationalise her behaviours, based on the episodes we had so far. and it seems that she truly believed that she would again be able to go home, so it seems like she doesnt feel the needs to adapt to her surroundings, since she’s not staying there. like if you’re playing an immersive video game, you dont feel the need to behave well to the npc, bcs they dont feel real to you.

my theory is that they were recruited by the company doing the experiment as test subjects, since they has a hard and miserable time in their original world at that point in time, with mr xu no longer able to continue with his athletic career, and jiang xiaoyuan (maybe fl) was living a hard life trying to make sure her grandmother was able to get the medical help she needed. the allure of a better life led them to agree to be test subjects and maybe to the point they are trusted enough to recruit others (i feel like mr xu was the one who recruited jiang xioayuan). and maybe the dimensional travel wasn’t parallel in time but can be manipulated by the company. from the trailers and the episodes so far, it seems to imply that jiang xioayuan and fl is the same person, with jumbled up memories, due to having travelled more than once between dimension maybe¿ bcs there’s a scene where the company said there’s a problem with jiang xioayuan’s data. i feel like her travelling back to her original dimension was the experiment that they (the company) decided to test on her, whether if they are able to, whether there’s consequences. but this i s just my speculations lol

bcs that was what she was raised with, she was born into an affluent family, with all the resources at her fingertips, she could afford to be arrogant and prideful then, bcs she has the power. it’s hard for you to get rid of a trait that has been with you your whole life, maybe even talked about by others as something positive. so it’s understandable for her to still have that trait, especially when it seems like everyone think of you as lacking than them.
