I was prepared to be mad at Shang Qi when Fei'er showed up again but so far he's been good at drawing boundaries…
Why should you be ready to be mad at Xiao Shangqi? From what I can deduct based on what's shown so far, it is the female lead who has no trust or confident in him. Instead of passively listening to 2FL she should take the chance to really clear things up, rather she bottled up everything. She seems to be the one that's obsessed with 2FL all this time. ML is an introvert but he's slowly opening himself up to her but because of her doubts and insecurity she's the one not communicating with him. I'm glad he stood his ground and frank (one of the qualities FL likes about ML). I don't know how they will deal with more issues in future but like you said miscommunication seems to be inevitable between them.
why they should not have ended up together? O.o they are both perfectly fit for each other. For those who watched…
I would agree based on the first 30 episodes but not the last 10 episodes. Which, I think, really undue the initial setup. ML the last 9 episodes is close to a unrequited love. FL role is an 180 turn from the novel onward. However, even without reading the novel, and just based on what is presented or not presented in the last quarter of the drama there is little to no love lost by FL to ML. It made some audience, me included, to accept a bad ending. From a storytelling point of view it is a failure if the ultimate goal is to tell a story of unparallel love that can overcome blood feud as FL's revenge borders on destruction of the whole Rong family after she learns about her biological parents. It is understandable she would go that way, but it is a major shift in plot and character development with no clear transition to its final conclusion. Additionally, the lack of communication between the leads or FL to any of the other friendly Rong members to settle differences and acceptances of the current situation is a huge loophole. The director forcibly inserting a happy ending at the very last 10 minutes of the drama is just too cliche, abrupt and plain laziness. I would appreciate if they had an actual civil and conclusive talk and then the dance than just the dance. Personally, the ending is when they took the train going opposite directions. That way all debt is settled between the leads. ML can finally achieve his dream. FL can do what she wants. They can be free of each other's burden.
Why do you assume the reason why he's married because she's pregnant? Solely based on paparazzi video? That's…
From the information exploded online they are no stranger to each other. It is said she is ZhouZhou's high school senior classmate. That they dated for four years, since 2018. Her family is very good, scholarly background. Whether these rumors are true or not I only care if ZhouZhou is happy. And judging from the public events he's attended the last few mouths, he is indeed very happy and feels more mature than before. Haha, I think it is very romantic. ^_^
Just my speculation, I think the reason why there isn't a date when the official website released the posters is because it might also be broadcast on TV as well. Otherwise, it'll air on both iQiyi and WeTV.
In 2016, his debut work, a small BL web drama "Addicted" was pulled from the air. His subsequent works canceled or edited out and film projects distance themselves from him. Basically, he was restricted from appearing in the media. Music and fashion are the only things he could do without restrictions. This lasted for over a year until late 2017 when he was casted as second lead in The Evolution of Our Love. To sum it up, the first 2 years he struggles to stay afloat in the industry, middle two years he works his butt off and these last two+ years he can finally bear some fruits. I think he is tough, has perseverance and great potential with his professional work ethics. Looking forward to his future development and success.
Oh, forgot to the mention the most prudent, he is his own boss. At such a young age he can make his own decisions and, of course, at the same time he bares any risks come his way. Truly awe inspiring young man.
Ping Pong of China is tentatively set to hit theaters on National Day, Oct 1. If all goes accordingly, I think we'll see promotions late this month or next month.
Someone is talking about Douban comments? LOL, guess they don't know that Douban is getting less reputable due…
Of course, I'm defensive. I became a fan because of this drama and have since watched his other dramas. I noticed his attention to details in each of the character he portrayed, so, what's wrong with providing facts? Everyone has their opinion. Yes. And, just because I'm a fan doesn't mean I do not have an opinion. Lastly, I am also a drama fan. If he's not good I wouldn't be defensive.
Lol, there is such an extreme view of ML's performance. Half really like it and half hate it. Either way his acting is memorable enough. Some viewers might try watching non-idol shows.
I agreed with some of the reviews that ML and FL should not have ended up together. Cheers

Hahahaha...I feel my intelligence just drop a notch chatting with you. Whatever makes you happy. However, I will draw the line if I see you still use insulting comments made on Douban to instill your sense of superior in judging a good actor's performance.

Err, are you ok? Are you sure you understand what I am talking about? No offense but you are the one that really need to better your English, or at the least your writing. (peace)
I remember I made a similar comment to you a while back when the drama was on air but here it is again: A rational person watching it would understand the scenario therefore how Rong Jiashang is the way he is. His character growth and change is subtle but fits within the framework of the situation he is in. A good character design takes into consideration the overall character (person in the drama), from background to personality, education and interpersonal relationships. Shifts in his actions and thinking visibly take full form in the last quarter of the drama. Good acting does not need to be act in an overly dramatic way. I think it may be a bit difficult for some to grasp that.

We must be watching a different drama from you. I noticed you have a strange way of misinterpreting situations and people in this drama. And why are you still quoting comments on Douban? You do know the situation about Douban, right? If not, then you're out of your league. With that said, can you tell me when the top rated comment was made? Oh, on the first day of broadcast. Tell me how they have watched the whole drama when only the first 8 episodes were released?
Speculating from the leaked videos/photos from behind the scenes and the trailer, I think the emperor will play…
I understand. He wasn't a true friend. I mean, I sort of understand, as he relied heavily on Pei Xingjian and now that he came to power he thinks he doesn't need Pei anymore. Power does corrupt and he's not strong to start off with.
The emperor better not be a douche again. I guess part of it was the writing, where they just had to toss in a…
Speculating from the leaked videos/photos from behind the scenes and the trailer, I think the emperor will play a small part when he transferred/banished Pei Xingjian to the western region to mediate against rebels. Majority of drama should be the lead couple traveling, living in the new environment, and encountering and resolving troubles there. From a leaked clip, Pei Xingjian was seen holding a baby and smiling at Liu Li standing on top of the city gate. This seems to indicate they do have a child. Hopefully this will not be cut.
From historical documents Pei Xingjian and his second wife, a Turk, had several children. Their youngest child became Chancellor of Tang. Pei Xingjian lived a full live and died of old age.
On episode 7:I really want to continue watching it, however I’m not fan of Timmy Xu at all. also he is really…
Late reply.
The actor is not a shithead. Actor has nothing to do with character?
Yu Kenan has a reason for his attitude. You can stop there and keep this bias. Or continue watching and learn why he acted like that. He's misunderstood but unwilling to lower his head to tell others. At the end, he loss, but he's the real winner. He did not use underhanded methods to cheat and win. Rather he relies on his own strengths to win and lose. That's the spirit of a true sportsmanship.

Ping Pong film not approved in time to released on China's National Day (Oct 1). Current tentative new date is New Year's slot.
