Title Weaving a Tale of Love Spoiler
Did Pei Xing Jian had a wife before? Because at episode 32 Concubine Yang mentioned "....has not gotten married…
Yes, in both drama and historical text Pei Xing Jian was married. His first wife was of Xianbei ethnicity and his second wife (FL) is of Turkic ethnicity.

If I didn't read the trailer wrong, for the sequel, we will get a little bit more information about his first wife. Maybe...

Title City of Streamer Spoiler
can someone explain to me san ye's whole vendetta? and then shi zhen's vendetta as well? or like the history of…
Rong Ding Kun, an imposter and devil in disguised, is Qin Shuigen. He is the center of all the characters and how things/events/people are inter-related.

-First wife - Jia Shang's mother, she passed away when he was a young child. He was raised by Mrs. Rong, however, after his half brother died she had him banished to military school.

-Second wife, Mrs Rong - Married to Mr Rong after his first wife passed away. She was on good terms with Jia Shang's mother. Twin brother of Fang Lin was killed when he and Jia Shang were kidnapped when they were young, so she's held grudges against Jia Shang and why Jia Shang was sent to military (disciplined) school.

-Concubine, Madame Wang - mother of Fang Hua, also Mrs Rong's personal maid. Mrs Rong gave Madame Wang to Mr. Rong calculating it will make him leave Meng Qing Zhi. He did. It is also how Shi Zhen was hired, under the guise of a teacher/tutor, to attract Mr. Rong's attention away from Madame Sun and younger sister Shao Qing.

-Lover/opium maid Meng Qing Zhi (Meng Xu An's sister) - She was misled and taken advantage by Rong Ding Kun. She lost her chastity, Meng family heirloom, and addicted to opium. She was abandoned by Rong Ding Kun and shunned by her family then moved to the US. She gave birth to a son, went crazy, and committed suicide. Her son, Meng Jiu, is mentally unstable, crippled himself and feed nonsense by his uncle, Meng Xu An. Meng Xu An set out to ruin Rong Ding Kun's reputation and family, kill Rong Jia Shang then install his nephew as the heir and take the Rong's assets/fortune. He was mostly in the shadow until Shi Zhen seeks her own revenge at the beginning.

-Lover/opium maid Madame Sun - was Jia Shang and his half-brother’s tutor, caught Mr. Rong's attention and became his lover/opium maid.

-Lover/opium maid Sun Shao Qing - older sister Madame Sun became pregnant and didn't want Mr. Rong's attention to wander so offer younger sister, Shao Qing, to him.

-Shi Zhen did some investigating, and many things pointed to Rong Ding Kun as the perpetrator of the WenChunLi fire. The fire that destroyed the whole neighborhood, displaced, disabled and left many in shambles. Her family's medicine shop burnt down and her father in scars and addicted to opium to recoup. She walked into Meng Xu An’s trap (he’d secretly have her background checked and chose her as the person to infiltrate the Rong mansion) and became his spy. It was later discovered, starting from Jia Shang’s search for Shi Zhen’s lost family, that the real Rong Ding Kun is her father. The current Rong Ding Kun is Qin Shuigen.

You can connect the rest of the dots from contents in the drama.

i fought through to finish this drama and even watched on faster speed lol i dont think i was ever more annoyed…
I agreed, I rather like them focusing on their career line. I'd be even more happy if ML didn't end up with FL. And, I'm the opposite, I was more annoyed with FL lead. I actually fast forward the last quarter of FL's parts while watching it for ML's parts. On my second watch, I basically just watch ML's parts. lol

Why do you assume the reason why he's married because she's pregnant? Solely based on paparazzi video? That's not concrete evidence. She was in a puffy short black dress and in a Harry Potter gown. Even if it's true, he's happy, that's all that counts.

ZhouZhou's 5th single entitled "I Wanna Be Your Lover" of his 3rd album will go live April 7 at 10AM, Beijing time. A short preview clip from his studio sounds like funk music. Maybe we'll get an MV with ZhouZhou dancing?

Someone is talking about Douban comments? LOL, guess they don't know that Douban is getting less reputable due to the rigged rating the last few years. From extreme fans/water army rating 5 to anti/and water army rating 1...Not to mention, the company rectified their platform recently...

ML's acting is very good, thank you very much. The character is design that way. He did an excellent job of portraying the complexity of Rong Jiashang. Compare the first half to the second half of the drama and you can see his character is consistent and the growth is not abrupt rather a gradual process. The drama spans 4-5 months and then 2.5 years the last episode when the leads separate.

Deng Lun was one of my faves, sucks for him because everything he’s worked for is gone overnight. Tax evasion…
Adding on to what @sharreb said. He was given a grace period to pay but didn't. So, we have today.

Why? Isn't he a regular person in his spare time? Dating doesn't need to be announced to the whole world. He didn't…
Yes, it's truly beyond me. The immaturity of star chasing is too toxic. These people are too idle. Groupthink is a terrifying thing. Individual opinions are suppressed and consequently if there is a counterview these people will fight to the death for what they think is justify. Gosh!

Seriously, without the filter of the role(s), can actor(s) stands to scrutiny? Not many can. And for that, I have to give kudos to ZhouZhou for not hiding his marriage. Haha, in that way, I think he's similar to Rong Jiashang.

Why? Isn't he a regular person in his spare time? Dating doesn't need to be announced to the whole world. He didn't…
I understand. And I wasn't really aiming at you but in general. I guess I was pretty emotional too when I reply to you. Sorry if it came across as harsh. I was on Webio to blessed ZhouZhou on his happy day but instead encounter malicious waves of resentment and hatred from Addicted CP fans. It was an eye opening experience.

One reason why I dislike fandom of any kind, CP/shippers/extreme fans is because they are very irrational and delusional. You can like an actor because of the role(s) they play but do not create fantasy around them in real life then blame them if they do not act according to your expectation. Do not blur the role to the real person. I question whether these people in fandoms really like the people they ship /fan or is it because of a fictional character on screen? Most often, I find it's actually because of the role and not the real person that these people like.

Anyway, yes, I really like his portrayal of Rong Jiashang and subsequently watched his other shows too. He's improved a lot from just the few shows he's starred in. I can see his potential and hope to see more wonderful roles and music works from him. Cheers to you too. Have a wonderful rest of the weekend.

HE GOT MARRIED! I don't know what I'm feeling... immense happiness that a good actor found someone who understands…
Why? Isn't he a regular person in his spare time? Dating doesn't need to be announced to the whole world. He didn't hide but made it public on the day they got their marriage certificate/couple passport. He's living his life so be happy for him. Concentrate on his work instead. I never care about any celebrity's life but the quality of work they bring because acting/singing is their job.
Then again, I don't care about fandom so I don't know how you feel.

Is this series a hit in China?
I couldn't call it a "hit" but it was the number one online drama (most watched) during its airing.

City of Streamer ends with 1.2 billion views, an average of 30 million per episode.

I'm still bitter about the last ten episodes, though. And I can tell from the data most audience feel the same. If it had follow the novel plot we'd have had more than the 1.2 billion as viewership peak at 48 million from episodes 29-32. However, the momentum of the drama couldn't keep up, with the lowest average on episodes 37-38 at 20 million, a steep drop from 48 million views. Word of mouth drop and backlash made many resort to fast forwarding rather than watching the whole episode which result in a low count. This week was the airing of the last six free episodes and they average at 15 million. Now that all except the first two episodes are back on VIP I doubt City of Streamer will pickup any new audience. A shame, really, it could have been a hit series.

It's highly unlikely they will learn but I hope this is a wakeup call for screenwriters not to messed around with a good original script.

Why is everyone hating on the ML's acting? Is not the best, but is not bad
Err, if you are comparing actors and not in respect to the role itself then I have a different perspective too. LOL. But let's end here, we'll agree to disagree.

It was fun watching and discussing this drama with you and everyone else. Until next time on another drama do we meet again. Ciao~

It was good until EP 30. I got tired of the drama and filler plotlines lol. This is why cdrama needs to stay to…
If it had follow through the direction of the novel it wouldn't have felt dragging. Unfortunately, the screenwriters had to indulge in some creative writing in the process. Sigh, before episode 31 onward I was excited to finally get a solid series but, like many other times, I overestimated it. *Cries*

But, not all is bad. I enjoyed watching ML's scenes and especially scenes with his father, uncle and stepmother. The battles for supremacy in the Rong family is pretty entertaining. Thank goodness ML's scenes stay true to the novel.
