Seems to be one sided but her behavior or non action when he gets close to her is pretty ambiguous. Her character design seems disjointed. As she knows full well how despicable he is and has feelings for her. Forgot to mention too that FL's friend is 2ML's mistress. So, these two episodes 33 and 34 are messed up.

Lol. Some changes are much better integrated while a few are just outright incredulous. I'm sure it's a happy ending as I've seen another dance of them with him in uniform. Very similar to the ending in the novel. Next week is the last four episodes so I'll make myself watch it to the end.
Watch enough Cdramas and you get used to the FL being a douche-bag.And this one is no different.the Cdrama FL…
That's the thing though. It was supposed to be two lovers overcoming blood feud/debt to be together because their love was pure enough, there wasn't a chance given to other people. They were clear cut in the novel. Now in the drama, it's become like this!!!!!!! Ahhhhhh

No, you didn't missed anything. There weren't such scenes in the novel. I believe, if I recall correctly, it was Baoli that accompany her to FangHua's wedding. It's a pretty messed up plot here. Here's my reply to another post below: "I know many Chinese fans were not happy with that, especially novel fans. There wasn't such love triangle in the novel at all. This is an add on scenes of the 2ML that doesn't exist. 2ML did eventually came to the realization he loves FL but that is after everything was solved. I'm kind of pissed off too. The novel was well loved because there wasn't a love triangle and now it's made into another drama cliche. Truthfully, just looking at the drama itself, I am doubtful of her love to ML. Now, if the ending has changed like ZhouZhou said, I'm actually receptive to a bad ending."
Could be because she has no sense of distance from 2ML that the ML does with any female that wants to get close to him. Plus the ambiguous vibe coming out of the 2ML that FL totally should know (she's supposed to be a smart detective spy, also ML and her friend even told her 2ML likes her) but doesn't stop him verbally or physically. Except for the one time on the train she told him she loves the ML. :L I know many Chinese fans were not happy with that, especially novel fans. There wasn't such love triangle in the novel at all. the story is getting weaker.ML takes the leadership of the family, "we are at war with the meng family, and they…
He's already in a position where what he does is a dead end. We are also approaching the end of the drama and there has to be redemption for these type of drama. In a way, Rong Jiashang was born to atone for his father's sins. For him, this is the best way. Meng has equal power as the Rong. His family is thrown asunder; father paralyze from the waist down, one of sisters was raped, he has to fight for business power with uncle Zhou and protect his family from getting harassed by reporters and of course Meng. Not to mention he never wanted to get in the family business. If something were to happen, at least he can protect the females in the family with clean business.
I didn't think he could have more chemistry than he did with Johnny until I watched city of streamer.
Yes, Bai Lou Yin and Gu Hai had very explosive chemistry. Not to mention the behind the scenes interactions between them. OMG
I'm loving City of Streamer. He definitely has a good paring as Jiashang with Jing Tian's Shizhen. ZhouZhou really has a good grasp of the character. I noticed since Addicted that he's serious in how he portrays the characters he plays. Each one is different and there's a separation of ZhouZhou from the characters. It's amazing. I look forward to his future works.
I'm very surprised at this rating too. It went from 8.2 to 8.1 and now 8.0. Personally, at this point in the drama…
Truthfully, I don't take ratings as the basis to watch any drama/film. I will watch and judge it for myself. As ratings are usually personal, oftentimes I find I rather like some so called low rating drama compared to high ones.
Wait.. in a recent interview with Timmy, they asked if it's a HE and he said he can't say because, I quote "compared…
He also said it's the best ending for the couple. There also a scene of Jiashang in the first trailer in training pilot uniform dancing with Shizhen so I think it might change a bit but not too much.
Excuseeeeeeeee me! How's this show rating came down to 8 from 8.1? Who's giving it so much low rating?
I'm very surprised at this rating too. It went from 8.2 to 8.1 and now 8.0. Personally, at this point in the drama it is an 8.5+. Waiting to finished the drama before rating. Depending on the last ten episodes I'll likely rate it a higher score.
They are actually way less lovey dovey than in the novel, I don’t know why 🧐
Many sweet scenes and kiss scenes were filmed but were cut off. The official Weibo drama page released some behind the scenes tidbits containing deleted scenes. Unsure they will be upload on YouTube though.
Take note cdramas PDs ! This is how you make a young and mature couple with chemistry and good comunication !…
I especially love this scene so much. The part when he confessed to her "Shizhen, I love you" then the music stops like Jiashang is waiting with bated breath to hear what Shizhen has to say. And when she requited "I love you" and the string music comes on. It's so beautiful.
I'm so proud and happy for all the casts and crews. With no promotion the premiere was lackluster of only a little…
I think it may have to do with the production company. They spent most of the budget for set designs (the director said this on the behind the scenes Special video) and likely none left for promotions. It's very frustrated but good production will not stay hidden. Tencent has very bad vision too. They bought the rights to air but did not promote it, unlike their own productions which are promoted widely and frequently. Now with the amount of viewership increasing and surpasses some of their productions Tencent finally made some moves to promote on their site.
Is anyone like me? I've watched episodes 29 and 30 three times now! OMG, these two episodes are so well made. The intimate scenes are so sexy and sweet. They can finally sit down and get to know each other without external distractions.
I really like the last scene of them on episode 29 at the Forbidden Palace; with their dialogue, the music, and the once majestic palace now sat empty. It's so poignant. It's like a foreshadow of things to come. The Rong business empire and its count down to sinking since its inception juxtapose prior Chinese dynasties. A very artistic scene.
