SML discovers the truth, confronts ML, they talk loudly about how their is no blood relationship and she overhears that part. Does not hear any of the talk about who she is and why the ML and his mom so obviously care very deeply for her. Kinda dumb unfortunately.

This is why I feel like I am insane. She was assigned to training box. She found out he was involved and wanted to leave. Her boss told her to say for her advancement. None of that is wanting to destroy his company. She even helped them. You all are so mean to the FL and it makes no sense.

This has been a great weekender so far. I hate Monday. Bleh.

YAMG really wasn't a second chance drama though. They never dated in the past.

I don't either, to be clear. I just also don't fault the FL for her behavior later on. It is all very rational and reasonable to me. They still should have shown the moether's death ep 17 or 18 though.

It has nothing to do with quality. I'm not comparing the two. It is just an objective observation. The circumstances being different I would say relate to why this drama didn't work well. But, objectively, the ML in both acted without asking or explaining. Of course that is extremely common in shows, so, could be any other one that would have the same similarity.

I mean, it is just an objective fact. In both shows, the ML, for most of it, acts without consulting or informing the FL. It isn't negative, just true.

I literally said it was a confused response. So, yes, it was weird, but it was reasonable. She had just gone through a lot of trauma. Heart broken, mother died, hospitalized. Latching on to the person who was there and supported you through all of that is normal actually.

Past that, if had absolutely nothing to do with the ML. He dumped her, why should she care about him after that?

Sometimes, you know, you love someone but life doesn't work out.

How can you be so upset over the "simp" ML obsessing over the FL for years and then also be upset that the SFL didn't obsess over the guy for years? Where is the consistency?

I agree that the pacing of the show was off. It really feels like there was supposed to be a third act to it, so 32-36 episodes. Act 1, past relationship. Act 2, reconnecting and working through issues. Act 3, working together to defeat Wang.

She never wanted to destroy him. She said that one time, out of anger over him showing up with the his mistress. She actually actively helped him during that time. Like you said, actions speak louder than words--she said she wanted to destroy his dream but she actually helped him to protect it.

And the SFL moved to New York to pursue development of her app. Nothing wrong with that choice. She knew then that she liked him, but the app was her baby.

She lived alone because FL was in another city for school and then another different city for work. She got her bonus (that would allow her to pay off the remaining debt) right before he broke up with her. There was no time for her to move her mom to her city, as she instead went to find the ML to find out why he ended things.

You still misunderstand. She never hated him. The last time she left, after they were kissing a bit, was because she remebered her mom. Not hate, just that she couldn't get past that connection--she went to find him and because of that, her mom died. It wasn't his fault, she never blamed him, but that connection was there.

The SFL's cancer is what changed it. Perfectly reasonable reason. You only don't think so because you have never experienced something like that--an otherwise healthy, young person suddenly stricken with a life threatening illness.

Life is short. Don't let the negatives overwelm you. Facing death brings those thoughts to the front.

The ML is also similar in both--tends to act without explaining. In L&P the FL was fine with it, in this one she wasn't. Both positions are fine.

You lot are fabricating things for some weird reason. She clearly never stopped loving him, that is why she didn't want to be part of the project originally. You latch onto her telling him that she was part of the dirty tricks, but that was just an anger response to seeing him, the love of her life, with the woman that he cheated on her.

They could have made the mom's condition clearer, but she was obviosuly in ill health, hence the FL being so adamant about her not setting up a stall at night.

People die all the time from falls, particularly if they live alone. Rather callous of you to laugh about that.

Mysteriously? Her very long time best friend had extremely advanced cancer. As it turns out, when your loved ones face death, it also has an impact on you. I am happy that you have never experienced such.

Right after? She wasn't getting married right after the breakup, but rather after her time hospitalized.

It seems pretty reasonable for someone to be confused when dealing with the love of their life harshly dumping them, then finding them with another woman the next day, then missing your mother's death because you went to see the love of your life to find out why he so harshly dumped you. You L&P fans are really somehting else.

Yeah, her getting married to someone else after he broke her heart and caused her to miss her mother's death is truly disgusting.

She didn't break up with him he dumped her and they were apart for 6 years, not together for 6.

It had a lot of pacing issues and some people didn't appreciate that the FL had resentment towards the ml breaking her heart.

The writer or director really made a bad choice to delay showing what happened to the FL's mother. If that had been shown right after the breakup, or at least right away after the reunion, I think this show would have been better received.
