It is unfortunate how they are treating Soo Cheol's marriage with Da Hye, why is the writer stuck in a loop. They…
It was a little bit of development for her. Last time she rana way for her, this time she was leaving for him, but ultimately didn't. Still, I agree with you that it indicative of the overall issues with the show.

It uses heat to kill the tumor. Generally speaking, it is done in one session.

I know little about medical things, and Hyunwoo has stated that the doctor will utilize high-intensity ultrasound…
It is not fake. Early attempts did require making a hole in the skull, but that is no longer required. Currently in use to treat some types of brain tumors very successfully, and widely used for certain non-brain tumors. The sound waves do pass through bone in general, just with distortion causing a loss in efficiency. It has been used to treat tremors from Parkinson's for a while. You need a dense skull for it to work.

ES's obsession storyline has been a serious negative for the show. Entirely reliant upon bad writing. Incredibly frustrating.

She was obviously going to change her mind. My opinion is that, like me, people just hate the dumb ES obsession storyline. It relies solely on bad writing and brings nothing positive to the show. Just meh all around.

FWIW, Hae-In received non-invasive healing ultrasound therapy, not surgery.
Earlier, you did not know it could be used on brain tumors. Then, after pointing out how you were wrong, you shifted goalposts.

I was talking about clinical trials using hifu to treat glioblastomas. Not a drug trial, and not low intensity to help drugs.

pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/17143231/ Magnetic resonance imaging-guided, high-intensity focused ultrasound for brain tumor therapy

That is one from the mid 2000s. It is not the only one. People have been working on it for decades. It looks like one started in Zurich way back in 2010, with the first patient two years later and first "success" two years after that.

Do you really not understand why the length of time that she has had symptoms relates to the grade?

And the MRI is used for targeting and verification in this case. The use of them is extremely common in normal tumor removal operations. Hospitals nowadays can buy a setup that allows the machine to be moved into the OR from an adjacent room when the surgeons want to see how they are progressing so the patient does not need to be moved.

This is all a silly diversion anyways, as the main thing is that hifu can most certainly be used to target brain tumors. It isn't like there is anything inherent in the grade that would preclude its usage. While they may have advanced the technology a bit on the show, it isn't pure fabrication.

Anyways, you can keep shifting goalposts on your own, I've had enough fun.

It is ok to just say, "oh, wow, I didn't know that."

I don't know low long she has had the tumor/symptoms, so I do not know if it is high or low.

But, just for fun, as you are are nitpicking, I checked and there are clinical trials for the treatment of glioblastoma (a high grade tumor) as well. Note, I am not saying that there are not other trials for different high (or low) grade tumors.

I'm sorry that you being repeatedly wrong is pissing you off.

FWIW, Hae-In received non-invasive healing ultrasound therapy, not surgery.
"Children’s National will now use HIFU to treat low-grade type tumors located in difficult locations of the brain, such as hypothalamic hamartomas and pilocytic astrocytoma, as well as for movement disorders and epilepsy."

That's from two years ago, after they had performed their first successful treatment.

Before FDA approval, they very much experiment on patients. That is what a clinical trial is.

Anesthesia in this case would likely be used in order to fully immobilize the patient, both to ensure no accidental damage from movement and to enable targeting. The big problem with the scene is the absence of an MRI machine, not the use of HIFU.

First, you are wrong about it not being used to target brain tumors. While still in trial stages, it has been done.

Second, even if it had not been done, so what? This is fiction, it is ok for them to advance the technology beyond what we are currently capable of.

So she had brain surgery but her head is not shaved? I mean how?
They used multiple beams of sound to heat the tumor and destroy it. No head shaving required.

Using high intensity ultrasound to destroy tumors is a real thing. It can generally precisely target target tumors, destroying them completely (burning them away), and yes, in one session.

It is not the low intensity ultrasound that you are thinking of, and not at all a treatment for chronic pain, unless the pain is being caused by a tumor (or other similarly invasive growth). If you would like to learn more, you can look up high intensity focused ultrasound online.

For HI, they are saying that due to the nature of the tumor(s), part of her brain will be damaged in order to completely eradicate it. As earlier they had described it as quite diffused, it is not illogical.

You are awfully hostile for someone so wrong.

Title Queen of Tears Spoiler

That is why I described him as a mashup of two characters. If his purpose is Hae in, his actions to destroy her family don't make any sense. Would be a lot more logical if he had betrayed his mother in order to further ingratiate himself to the Hongs and HI. Instead we get this weird draggy plotline, just bad writing.

Title Queen of Tears Spoiler
This show feels like it would have been better with less episodes and no stupid ES weird obsession plotline. It doesn't make any sense to begin with as his actions directly contradict his goal, it is like there were two characters originally (financial villain and romance villain) and to save on cast costs they mashed them together. Now he is planning on stealing her somehow from the hospital and I guess keeping her locked away forever (can't be out in public in Korea, as she is pretty famous and her romance/marriage with HW is very well known). Just dumb. He was perfectly fine as a bog standard villain after the family's wealth.

The mp3 player connection is fine, not needed, but no biggie. Him having saved her from drowning is dumb. He has known that she almost drowned and her older brother did drown. Over all of this time it is inconceivable that they wouldn't have already realized that he was her savior, unless he somehow has amnesia and doesn't remember that he saved a girl from drowning whose older brother died at the same time.

Birth is one thing but there are also many factors needed to open a business. Open a business is easy but making…
It is bad writing, in that he doesn't know what her monthly wage/allowance is, so how can he offer 3x? She may already be making the amount restaurant owner was offering (assuming he thought she was making basic purchased maid wage/allowance). We also don't know what it is, just that she is making more than everyone else.

Valuing wages over quality of life is a choice, but it isn't for everyone. Some may prefer security and stability. In her current situation she knows she isn't going to be fired and has someone (multiple people really) who will strongly defend her if harassed or assaulted. At that point in history, it is actually a really good position for her.

Restaurant guy seems decent, but his true character isn't really known by us, much less by FD. It is a big risk to go into that sort of situation, could easily find herself forced back into servitude or worse.

Fudong makes the most out of the group and you aren't putting anywhere near enough value on freeing her.

There is value in loyalty, particularly when you're involved in a growing business. You may be able to command more on the open market currently, but if you believe the business that you are at will continue to grow you can reap far greater rewards by assisting.

Further, HZ has shown that she is loyal and trustworthy. Knowing that you are valued and will be well taken care of is important. How many business owners would be ok with her abandoning the competition?

I can somehow understand grandma's will and her wisdom. She gave what her grandchildren's lack. ML is alone and…
I'm pretty sure that scene is when they are going for the reading of the will. Previews clearly show that he gets the house. He is in no way owed the hotel, there is no betrayal to granny deciding to give the hotel to her granddaughter who clearly loved her without any thought of financial benefit.

He hasn't lost anything outside of granny, but up till now the show has shown him to not have familial affection for her. In fact, show was pretty blatant that he was only interacting with her to get the hotel and if she did not own it, he would pay no attention to her. MCH, so far, is the only person that he has shown any human interest in (him running down the stairs when he heard about the engagement is clearly not because granny asked him to watch out for her), and I'm sure granny noticed the change in his behavior towards MCH.

Second half will feature more of YZM, ex boyfriend storyline is over and I'm guessing that after mom tries to interfere with the hotel we will see much less of her as well, finishing the process started with mom's delusional behavior with the engagement (its like she doesn't know her daughter at all).

Title Su Ji & U Ri
the only "secret" in the show is woori's real parents & why sooji's bio mom left her nothing in the information…
I'm guessing woo ri's mom is mean hospital lady, who was forced to give him up, and leave her true love, by her parents so she could marry neurosurgeon (whom I pity). Soo Ji's bio mom definitely has some memory loss, but bleh, just had to deal with this sort of nonsense in the last one.

Na Young is 100% the child of SJ's dad. The ex-husband bit is a lie they told to cover up how long they had been having an affair. I wager she knows her background and it is a driving force in her insecurity and jealousy. Her lashing out about SJ being abandoned by her mother makes sense in this context, as NY knows her parents are with her, otherwise they both have one bio parent in the family, so same level.

Show at least is moving along at a good clip. I look forward to ML not being a jerkface to Fl over things she has no control over (hospital requirements), it is getting a bit better.

don't tell me the second love interest is this guy. Again with the big age gap, this writer really like this ahah…
He was doing his military service at the time, so probably just 1-2 years older than ML. Figure 7 years or so for the age difference, well within the rule. They seem to have set it up that she will show no interest, as she got so offended when her rival accused her of sleeping her way to the role. He will, undoubtably, take it really well and not be a bothersome pest for 15-30 episodes...
