Second half really left me a blubbering mess. Fr the individual stories to the leads' own. How they came abt to their closure. Its a vy complete work in terms of heartfelt yet realistic stories, brilliant indie style directing to understated but remarkably relatable acting. The sampoong building collapse news footage.. because its real really hits you in the gut. Esp since i recently read up abt this manmade disaster
Why you dropped the original ver???But i dropped it too...
Weird is i like YKS and KYJ as actors n enjoy their other works. But i din like their character. Couldnt get into their story and them as a couple. Watching drama shdnt feel like hard work so i guess its not my cup of tea n no point forcing myself to watch it.
General consensus including mine: 1. Very watchable. More thn d K version which i dropped 2. The leads have very good chemistry. You can feel the attraction 3. ML is overall kind n cute, which FL slowly comes to know 4. FL is not weak, very likable and works hard for her family 5. 2ML is annoying, definitely no SML syndrome 6. The brother and bestfriend story is nice too 7. Production value is good. Way better thn Count Your Lucky Stars.
I cldnt stay away. Usually i wait for it to reach halfway before i start a kdrama. Its PBY's fault, being her fan i still din enjoy her previous drama abyss. This one n her character i totally heart. Attracted me alot fr the teaser. Somhow its even sadder when she said she couldnt cry and where did all d tears go. D fantasy genre n death looming, n coubtdown at the end of the episode seems to promise alot of angst. Yet weirdly theres sth healing and cathartic abt it.
I do legit thk Prosecutor Ha Na's role is an important dynamic in the story. For one it had so many ppl commenting on her. I dont like her abrasiveness but i dont fault her snooping behaviour nor going against her questionable superior. I also think its important to remember vigilantes as much as its satisfying to see the wicked get their dues, but question on morality to be judge, jury and executor by oneself or Deluxe taxi team. The major flaw is while evyone have a backstory, Ha Na has none. So it looks like a puppet role of the screenwriter. If she was written a bit more favorably, our feelings of a just prosecutor would likely be different
Thankyou for your article @cassiopeiastars You have answered a lot of people's wish on the MDL page and you did it in a very concise way. Regretful it's ending this week. I think the slow burn really worked because 1) seeing the leads passionate about their career was realistic (in contrast with fluffy dramas - which i do guilty enjoy, I appreciate the realistic love story in YRMH because come on real life isn't just romance; everyone's gotta work hard and put in the effort for their dreams & their career) 2) because we didn't know Sandra Ma/Bai Jing Ting is the CP we needed. Unlike other dramas high is kiss counts (Love is sweet, Begin again), they still bring a lot of chemistry and feels by body language, tone of voice, glance of an eye. Somehow this Action/Medical/Romance felt very fresh among the Cdramas I've watched. I havnt enjoyed any Sandra Ma's drama as much as I did here and in Love Me If You dare. Mika was a great characther i love how shes really mature and understanding even though being a girlfriend is new to her. Bai Jing Ting famously had his first onscreen kiss in this drama. I liked him as a person (based on reality shows he was in) but I didnt particularly care for any of his roles until Xing Ke Lei graced my screen. He really carve out a name for himself here. Captain Xing's character really stood in contrast with his buddy Shu Wen Bo. They are both newbies in love, awkward and clueless. The former is brave and trust his instinct to pursue his lady love; the latter is face-palm hesitant and withdrawn.
I thk you are doing this drama a disservice. There is no likeness with DoS. The ML occupation. The background, setup, hospital scenario all different. Even the mood, how the two fall in love couldnt be more diff..
13 minutes in and im already hooked. Can see why this beat WoH and Brocade this week.
I find this show addictive too n i havnt found one like this in awhile. However ratings are higher for airing dramas. Both WoH and Sword and brocade already completed. This drama comes in 2nd aftr Rattan
Cause im caught up and trying to be patient for mpre episodes.. end up watching reality show Who's the murderer. Fyi ep 7 and 8 baijingting guests as well. Ep has english subs on YT
I find this a lil depressing. Its realistic and captures all the possibilities why a relationship hit the rocks. Break down in communication, insecurity, incompatible, not the right person etc etc. Its a quick watch but it might not be evyone's cup of tea.
