I thought the ending of episode 8 could not be topped. But ending of episode 10 overtook it and how. Episode 8 was so exhilarating while episode 10 shattered the viewer's heart into smithereens. Both direction and execution of that last scene was absolutely perfect. Kudos to NIW and LSY. Also, kudos to GJS for the way he displayed this quiet sense of dignity as SE as well as the actor playing their farmer friend. His knowing smile when the female vet realises he is not going to Seoul. The cast is fantastic.

P.S.: It seems not just KH but also her friends needed closure due to their respective circumstances. And her arrival somehow woke them up from their slumber. Before she returned, everyone seems to have been going through the motions of living.

Title Motel California Spoiler
the writer of this show must be on something because what’s that ending? their car didn’t even hit anything…
I actually liked this aspect. It sort of justifies even more why KH was so adamant on leaving that place, even if it meant separating from YS. Traumatic experiences don't just evaporate. There are always triggers and these triggers sometimes may elicit responses as severe as that of KH.

I loved Deng Kai in Broken The Heart, so I am really surprised and happy that he's here in this drama toooooo…
He can give a lot of the popular traffic stars a run for their money. It's a shame he doesn't get bigger roles. πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

Well when I said that she seemed obsessed with him just because he saved her and was following him like a puppy…
Like his devoted squire. πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ Gosh, I have gone from anticipating this drama to roasting it.

Your comment made me cackle. 🀣 I can understand being obsessed with him for saving her... Even falling in love. But the way she reacted so transparently to his presence is what ticked me off. It seemed so unlikely for someone who reports on war. πŸ˜‘ Like you, I would have preferred if they had shown her initial interest gradually transform into liking him.

Title Back for You
I'm with you here! Amazing, unique drama and I have to say that Angelababy does a good job here. I wasn't convinced…
I remember because I was enjoying it immensely and absolutely loved the FL, while almost everyone else hated it, LMAO. I have a method that I use to figure out whether I'd like a book, a movie or a drama. If most are ranting about things I myself absolutely abhor, I will usually abstain from investing my time in it. Doing so has mostly worked for me. 😁

I guess we will never know. I had totally been looking forward to this. Because both CZY and LJ can actually act. While CZY is not my favourite actor, but he surely has talent.

Hey! Is her acting better than EL or actually decent? Because the only reason I stuck with EL was because of the story and not the acting.
P. S.: Btw, we were the miniscule minority who enjoyed Mr. Hermit. I used to love reading your comments on its page.

Sure! However, to be frank, don't really remember many of the realistic ones, save for one or two. Have been in the mood for romance for a while now, so, I mostly remember titles in this genre. 🀭

If you have watched Delicious Romance, Definitely Not Today, Please Be Family, Small Town Stories, Mr. Hermit, Qing Qing Zi Jin; you would have an idea of how I had envisioned SR who is aware of the wider world, yet retains her innate sense of innocence. While the dramas I have mentioned are different vastly in terms of themes, yet the characters in there are my template for strong yet innocent FLs. The ML of Small Town Stories, Fan Shiqi or the ML from Ripe Town would have better suited A'Zan's character and demeanor. While CZY had really impressed me in the pilot episode, yet in the following episodes, it felt like he had been directed to dial up the charm and overdo the saviour complex which came across as trying too hard. The execution was further ruined by the lingering silences. I, for one, don't mind slow burn romances. Also, I love LJ's performances, yet, here I cannot seem to like her acting at all. I totally blame the direction. It's a crying shame really.

The slow burn in the book works. Here, by trying too hard, they ended up messing up the execution of scenes. I,…

The scenes in the Eastern Country look too languid, no sense of urgency or frenzy. It's almost like they are carrying on in a scenic place cosplaying as journalists and military men. πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ
