I agree that the leads got feelings for each other really fast but I do think it's quite refreshing to see since there are so many dramas where they're basically in denial the whole time and don't confess to each other until like the twentieth episode and it can get a little frustrating at times... I feel like this drama is enjoyable not for the plot but for the fluff and because it makes you smile and feel good when you're watching it!!
She is such a great actress!! She makes anything more enjoyable to watch just with her presence. She's hilarious, her facial expressions are sooo funny and I love how her voice is cute but sassy at the same time if that makes sense. I would recognize her voice anywhere! And she's not just funny, her acting is genuinely good. I got teary eyed watching this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oxt6dhyHY30 (from the show Real Actor)
pretty much how most young actors become famous is through their looks because of their fandom. But there are…
Yeah I completely agree. Of course there are some who are very talented!! It's just that it sucks when an actor gets praised for doing the bare minimum simply because the industry attaches too much importance to looks. All you need, to me, is good acting skills and charisma.
What I want to know is how people managed to keep watching this mess even after those forced kisses in ep 4. That whole scene to me was just disturbing.
I have to say this wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I expected complete nonsense and yes, the first few episodes kind of were.... BUT it gets so much better and before I realised, I was already invested in the story. Chuxia's character is so lovable, she's smart, strong and ambitious, everything I love in a female lead!!
I honestly don't understand how Hu Yitian managed to become so popular after this drama when his role was so.... bland. He was literally just standing there and had like three lines every episode. I guess everything is easier when you have a pretty face.
I honestly didn’t expect to cry watching this drama but man that one scene in episode 14 really broke my heart like it was so well made and the acting from both leads was really good.
I kind of started watching this randomly because I like Janice Wu but I had to stop at ep 2 because of the racist comments... Like the one in the first ep was already pretty shocking but I thought I’d just ignore it but then there was another one in ep 2?? I got annoyed so I stopped watching. But anyways reading all the comments now it seems like I’m not missing out.
Just here to say I really love the scene with Tang Xue and her mom in ep 23. The acting from both actresses was so genuine and I feel like it was such an important scene too. I really want to say well done to the writers. I honestly started watching this drama with no expectations and I quickly realized that it’s SO much more than just a simple rom-com (as much as I enjoy those). Tang Xue is such an interesting character. I’m so happy to see a female lead who is so strong, ambitious, knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to fight for it despite still being so young... She might be my favorite female lead I’ve seen in a while, her character is so refreshing! I also love seeing wholesome friendships in dramas and this one definitely doesn’t disappoint. Anyways I’m so glad I randomly clicked on that one YouTube recommendation and discovered this drama.
Now that it's over, I can finally say with confidence that this is one of the best dramas I've ever watched. I don't even know what to say. I'm just in awe. I think I'm going to go watch it again, i already miss it.
