Is there a lot of misunderstandings and painful moments in this drama? I want to watch it but I'm hesitating because…
I'm still not done watching the drama but I don't think there are a lot of misunderstandings, there's ONE big misunderstanding that you can see in the synopsis. And it can be a bit frustrating because it takes the characters a really long time to clear it up but I would say the drama is enjoyable to watch anyway and the romance still slowly develops while this misunderstanding isn't yet cleared up so don't worry too much about it!!
It's my first time seeing a drama with Ma Mengwei and I really fell in love with her acting here!! Her facial expressions are so cute and funny, she suits the character very well.
I find him quite stiff in this, oh he was even stiffer before?
In my opinion he was, yeah... :') To be honest I still don't think he's That great, but he at least IMPROVED. In I Hear You he had like two facial expressions.
I really like Wan Peng's acting, she's so natural and she's just hilarious! I actually started watching this drama only for her but I have to say Riley Wang's acting has improved since I saw him in I Hear You (where I thought he was very stiff...).
It might be just me but I'm a little confused about Jianjian and Ling Xiao's relationship... like I can't figure out when exactly she started liking him. I remember him confessing and then kissing her and suddenly they were in a relationship?? Like he called himself her boyfriend and she just went with it but I don't think she ever clearly told him she liked him? I just don't really feel the romance between them but I don't know... Maybe I'm the only one. (I should probably add that I'm only at ep 28)
I really love this drama, the acting is great and everything but how I wish there wasn't any romance between the leads... Like I thought the whole point of the drama was to show that you don't need to be related to love and care for someone like a brother or sister. Even Jianjian's dad keeps talking about how he considers all three of them his kids and loves them equally. So I just wish it would stay like that. Don't know if it's just me.

Love this plot but sigh! I am getting jaded watching dramas where good looking ML is head over heels over plain…
Wow bashing the female lead’s looks was NOT necessary.... especially since beauty is subjective and you might find her plain looking but I think she’s gorgeous. I don’t understand what’s so bad about falling for someone “”plain looking”” anyway. As you said she has a spunky personality and if that’s all it took for the male lead to fall for her then why is that bad??
Thank you SO MUCH for this article!! It's always so nice to see articles about Japanese dramas because they've always been my favorite. I also completely agree with Sumi's last words. That's what I always try to remind people, actually. Those who think the acting is bad and over the top mainly think of manga adaptations because YES, they are dramatic, that's like the whole point. But crime and slice of life j-dramas are so amazing and the acting always feels so... natural? and real? They make me feel so many emotions that I don't often find in dramas from other countries (not saying those are bad, just different). So thank you again for this!!
Meng Hui is such a lovely and precious character, Shen Yi does NOT deserve her in my opinion..... anyway the best relationship in this drama is between the girl squad~
