Totally agree also on this. It makes so much sense he said it as well. He was willing to die after the revenche but now he does not want anymore since he met her. And at first he was mainly saving his ass and using her in a way as a support then when she discovered who he was and they started the new journey for the dragon saliva, he started to really be more open with his affection

It is an unpopular opinion for some: but I am really glad Zhao Zhao is doing what she is doing. I feel like so many drama are acting as if cancelling a betrothal or kissing someone while you are engaged is okay in the "historical/fantasy" world for women. Women are always (and even more in those context_) the one to get the blame. On top of all of the major conflict between the sects, come on. I would also drop those butterfly in my stomach.. really he is hot but would this be worth it to have your whole world against you potentially? Love can also fade. I want them to be together but I like to see female lead who just don't go with the flow.

1) She is not overacting: she let them having those moment of kindness but stop when it is indeed too much
2) She knows what's going on but feel stuck
3) She would not let any other male be close to her or touch her to the extend the male lead is allowing himself to do. He also know that. Why he touch, hug or try to kiss her, cause althought she is rejecting, she never push that hard. He could have easily get slapped (we know Zhao Zhao can slap well) but no.
4) When he lied to her as well about being sick, for me this would have been such a red flag no no, but she told him: please let me go. It was clear that they both knew what she meant there

He is for sure in the drama drop dead gorgeous, even Lingbo almost fell for him for a second

I also agree! I think it is not that bad considering the situation. He was just looking at it from a business perspective. In this sense, his move to marry XY was really the best! It just turned out this way but he is not trying to destroy her either. He "just " want control over her and to use her, but not like a revanche tool, this is just how he know how to do things. When XY mentioned how HC is seeking for attention, he did not realised it but he tried a bit after.

In one episode the older ladies are also talking about how much some of them are helping their partner by chatting and going to buffet dinner event Fang Lei admit Yu Xan is good at this. It is indeed a good observation. Also she insisted and did not used his money and sold the car. He told her you should have asked me money so he is seeing himself as this transactional partner! I am just curious to find out what would be the reason he need her again. Cause on the episodes it seems she spend time being back to a "normal" less privilege life.

I really like that they kept showing how the relationship is transactional with XY. Every time she managed to do something that ultimately benefited him, he would reward her. She even mentioned it ... So when it will come to the divorce, I think it might be that he realised he need her again and will try to find a way to get her back first because he does not have the soft skills she has, but in the process of trying to get her back for his benefice there the lines might get blurred for him. Just curious about this next era!

I get this but like the fact that he is good looking but not like crazy good looking. He could really be like the person he is suppose to be in the drama, if he looked too perfect it would have removed something I believe to the more mature side
