hope everyone will give gyj a chance and not hate on her/part 2. tbh we weren't even sposed to have jsm at all for this show the fact that we got her in the first place is like an unexpected gift. if you think of it that way and the fact that we got TWENTY episodes that's already more than the usual kdrama and part 2 is just like a bonus if you want it or not ππΌ
actually I am so amazed they have kept so many details about the second part a secret.
imagine that part 1 ends on a cliffhanger/open ending so it isn't any clearer whether jsm or gyj will be the focus of part 2 and we have to wait????? π
I actually enjoy that the leads have a lot of screen time together and there is more focus on them as it should…
awh to me that is a shame to hear you FF the second lead scenes as I prefer a show where the SLs are interesting to me too. I like romance but tend to get bored if there aren't other things to keep my interest too. do really love the leads though. still continuing to watch and enjoy but this is good to know :) ty!
I have watched all 30 episodes, and the way they treat the side characters is just like other dramas. The closer…
I agree with you, the episodes themselves do not feel long! these days I watch a lot of kdrama which have longer episodes for sure, but a complete show will usually have 16 eps at most, sometimes 12. hence I think of a 36 episode run as longer even if on a minutes basis it's comparable π
I feel in-between on this one. not struggling to get through an episode but looking at the number of episodes ahead of me I am not quite feeling an "I can fly through this easily" sensation. I think this is bc though I care about the main couple I am at a point of wishing there was more to the drama motivating me through, which is why I asked my original question π I can see how watching weekly would be a different experience!

ok I see what you mean. I'm glad to see there is more friendship and family stuff explored! I wasn't talking so much about wanting separate side couple romance, but just more characters to be interested in. for ex. not to compare totally diff dramas but like in The Untamedβthat had a big cast of characters that kept me hooked on all their journeys til the end. mostly not side romances but each was connected to the plot even if they didn't often intersect with the main couple. that is what I enjoy especially in a long show π
The focus has been on main leads in aired episodes. Any attention on side characters does not last more than a…
oh good to know, ty for your response π not a fan of boring filler side romances either but I love shows that have a good cast of characters with all diff kinds of relationships (friendships, siblings..) and side characters that are also important to the plot and have dimensions, bc I can get bored if all the focus in on the main pairing. but I will keep watching this and see π
the hype around this drama has pulled me back to cdrama. enjoying so far π
however can somebody tell me......would you say the drama gives more attention to side characters and fleshes them out more as the drama goes on?? I have liked the first 10 episodes however the majority of focus and interest has def been on the two leads. (there is changheng too and he is nice but not super interesting to me rn). I really like in a drama when there are several characters and different relationships I can get attached to. but mostly in all the craze about this drama it's like 90% about the couple or dfqc. so not sure whether I should expect more characters to love or get rid of that expectation. thoughts? π€
I wish the whole fake bu yeon/identity conflicts was a subplot in the drama that got wrapped up sooner, while also having a bigger plot everyone was involved in. I just don't like that halfway through it basically took over the whole drama , becoming the MAIN plot :|
what I don't get is what they're gonna do for part 2.......it's only 10 episodes so could they even start a new more exciting conflict?? my worst fear is they're just gonna take this buyeon/family drama and stretch it out further and give us more of the same sh*t πππππππ
end of the ep was AMAZING. don't think we needed a million scenes of the so yi buyeon setup to get there tho. could've skipped most of that w/o losing anything π€·ββοΈ

very encouraging to hear, def enjoying it and will continue watching π maybe I will do less binge watching though and take my time
