I feel the show has been consistent in showing Corrupt higher ups, but not necessarily corrupt ANSP as an organization.…
NIS is the current name of the ANSP (intelligence agency of South Korea). I don't think it has a bad image.

Isn't the president, the head of the party behind everything happening now. The hostage situation is the breach of national security. But they are using it for their own benefit.

Nam Tae-il would leave her alone after finding the real identity? Kang Moo says that you can continue to live as a doctor. Maybe, he was indicating to defect to South Korea.

ANSP is the former name of NIS. Is NIS considered bad?

That President's statement was a hypocritical one. Although he said that their job is national security, but that ANSP guy was promoted to a higher rank for going against the law by saving President's son. It shows that if you work for the party, it means you'll be on the beneficial side.

Dr. Kang responds to Kang Moo's advice by saying that the opposition party has to win for that. It is pretty evident that the cruel nature of ANSP was because of the higher ups. Because if you work for the party instead of the public you'll have a favoured life.

Here are some recent coverage by Korean media over the controversy. Most of the media outlets have ceased writing anything over it. There are very few new articles discussing the controversy.

[2022.01.14] – https://n.news.naver.com/article/006/0000111363
"The dog of the government, that's the ANSP"… 'Snowdrop' did not undermine the democratisation movement.

You can read the full article through the link, use Google Translate.

It is interesting to note that the reactions of South Korean netizens are positive unlike few weeks back.

For comments by South Korean netizens on this article, use this link: https://n.news.naver.com/article/comment/006/0000111363

Here are some of my favourite comments:

• [+597, –61] Those who misrepresented the essence of the work by false propaganda that they had damaged the democratisation movement even though the scene of the democratisation movement did not appear, or who rode on it, should reflect on it. Still, it's nice to see an article that makes a fair statement. And if you see it in person, I highly recommend as it is a work you will not regret.

• [+98, –1] It is horrifying that they systematically spread fabricated articles with malice, reporters spread them as if they were waiting, and the public accepted them without any doubt.

[Reporter's Note] Do you still think that 'Snowdrop' denigrated the democratisation movement?

Excerpt from the article: In the play, the ANSP and those in power are portrayed as incompetent and mean, and the spies are generally portrayed as merciless characters. In the process, the main characters, Lim Soo-ho (Jung Hae-in), a North Korean spy, and Lee Kang-moo (Jang Seung-jo), an employee of the ANSP, join hands to rescue the hostages. There was nothing that would make anyone uncomfortable like it was posted in the Blue House National Petition.

It is completely unpredictable. At this point I can't even imagine their lives outside the dorm. But tbh I can't sense happy ending for the main cast especially Soo Ho.

Can someone say me the story of " Ms. Pi "
Not everything has been revealed by now, but I'll tell you what I know.

She was forcefully framed as a spy by the ANSP. Although she was released, two of her closed ones were tortured and killed. That's why she hates ANSP so much.

And now she was forced to spy over Young-ro by that ANSP guy. But she has never done something which could harm the students.

I just finished episode 8 and I'm sad because I'm starting to get bored, yes the plots thrilling in some aspects…
I took a break after episode 7 for a week because I was hoping to start again after the hostage situation ends. But I started it again this Friday. And I think episode 10 (other than 5) is the best of this drama yet, maybe because of many past revelations and change in dynamics.

I think episode 10 also broke the circle which started in episode 5.

What? Ratings matters at the end of the day?

It reminds me of It's Okay to Not Be Okay. During its airing time people used to make fun of the drama because despite being on the golden time slot of tvN it couldn't surpass it premiere episode ratings until the last two episodes.

Ratings are not what should matter if you want to watch.

Whether you're enjoying or not is what matters.

No one can and no one should stop them. The general public opinion in South Korea has changed a lot towards positive side. The cast posting about Snowdrop on social media handles speaks a lot. Those so-called critics don't even watch the drama themselves. They just copy-paste from a single poster and adds their pinch of salt. Us thinking about this is a wastage of time, because our opinion don't even matter.

could someone explain ms. pi's position to me then? was she a nk spy that was changed to an ansp spy and what…
She is an innocent South Korean. But ANSP wanted to frame her as a spy. That is what ANSP agents do, so they could gain higher ranks for catching a spy (but in reality no spy).

Maybe in later episodes we would get to know that her sister was framed in that way by ANSP. Just like we got to know how Ms Pi was forced by that man Ahn Kyung-hee.
