this is definitely an unpopular opinion but I really enjoyed the tension and angst between fl and ex-husband, the start of their story is beautiful and the end is beautiful too, it was perfect
I haven't been teary eyed because of a drama in a long time, but this one got me twice, first when fl couldn't let go of her maid and second when fl told her "father" to wear more clothes because it was getting cold
I'm glad I waited until its done airing before watching, it was a good binge
I'm forced to watch this after finishing S1 because wtf was that ending. In S1 I was happy for ml when he finally…
The dad's deal was only after the 2 years. Those first 2 years that had mc in a mess were all ml. In this day and age it wasn't believable that he wasn't able to contact mc. Even with mc's phone confiscated and email not working, they have common friends and the cousin is literally right there.
I give more grace to mc misunderstanding because he did try and go see ml. He was hurt and didn't wanna ruin what seems to be a happy family.
While ml knew the whole time that mc was waiting for him. And him playing dumb about the blondie made it worse. It was brought up by multiple people on mc's side, yet he kept denying. He should've made it clear to reassure mc and those that care about him (including the adudience).
And a lot could happen in 5 years. The mc could've drunk, drive and died (K.Will when I get you!) then all he did would've been useless.
Despite many annoying parts in the story, the acting and chemistry were still good.
I didn't mind the lack of skinship or makjang after makjang plots in the finale. What I like is ml acknowledging and apologizing that he "forgot" about his love and promise.
That was important for me because I didn't know this was black comedy and it took me a while to move past his heartless reaction when he found out she was sick and dying, plus the whole be nice to fl to get her billions scheme.
Thats why I also really like the ending how they showed them until they passed away. Because that meant he never forgot again. A literal happily every after.
Overall, this was good. The production, acting, ost, esp. the cp chemistry, lighting and cinematography. The wait for this drama was long but it was worth it.
Even though he wasn't chosen, good for JW for finally breaking the cycle by not choosing SK.
At the same time I get why YJ chose CJ. He was on the show for her and her alone. He never swayed. They look happy together.
And HW choosing DJ, even though they didn't seem to continue to date, good for her for realizing her worth. As long as she got her white purse, she'll be fine. Her × purse was the most stable relationship in the show. lol
This sounds exactly like Mother of Mine with an even bigger age gap between the leads. But KSH and HJH were cute there so maybe these two will have chemistry too.
I'm not particularly fond of any of the cast in this drama, I mainly checked this out because fl is a ME. Then if its okay it can be a past time while waiting for QOT. But I'm glad I watched this because its actually good, I'm really enjoying it. I hope it stays good until the end.
(And ml looked so familiar the whole time. I just realized its cause he looks and reminds me of Machida Keita.)

In S1 I was happy for ml when he finally got mc, but I can't say the same for S2.
The mc was right, ml wanted to be together with him forever, but ml didn't believe in his "forever".

Looking forward to LYX's first historical drama as fl. Hope the costumes & styling are good.
For context, I enjoy forensic science and criminal investigation.
