8.0/10 - still typical but so good!

OK, it's all still very typical. Still. Yet, I'm eating it up like the candy addict I am. This was such a cute episode. It was hilarious and adorable. I also think Goo Hae Ryung's maid wanted something a little extra to go on too. I mean her hand gestures weren't just saying pumpkin to me! Her disappointment in their modesty and even the blankets being folded was perfection! I laughed so hard. More is being hinted at between Goo Hae Ryung's brother and his past with our mysterious surgeon. Yi Rim and Goo Hae Ryung are realizing they might be crushing on eachother. The second lead is being slightly pushed as a love interest and I'm just not buying it at all. Min Moo Won is nice and all, but it's too late. And I'm always a sucker for second leads. The cliffhanger ending was a bold choice and I'm wondering where this is gonna take the story. The ban on books being lifted seemed so odd and out if no where so I'm worried about what the writer is gonna do!

7.0/10 - Nothing too crazy for the plot.

This is a very typical episode for this story. At least I can say I'm totally in love with the characters so I'm invested and love it. It. Is so sweet seeing what Yi Rim is willing to do for Goo Hae Ryung. It's sweet cause he's not totally willing to admit it. Plus, Eunuch Sam Bo is totally getting suspicious about the Prince and his actions. Apparently it's a no-no for a crush! Things are slowly being connected between Goo Jae Kyung [Hae Ryung's brother] and Mo Hwa [Female physician] who is Bo Sam's wife.

7/10 - slower but still building.

This episode felt slower but is very important to the characters. Weaving past connections and future ones. It was heart breaking seeing Goo feel defeated because of the corruption and clearly why wouldn't you change it. The realities of them being spies hasn't hit yet and I wonder how she will feel about that.

7.0/10 - Right on the cusp of drama greatness for me!

I love that Goo Hae Ryung picked up that piece of wood like that would protect them. At least she grabbed a weapon. I love that Yi Rim was the one to faint! What an amazing fight! That whole arrow grab scene is perfection!   Darn it! They really are using the female historians as spies. I wasn't sure what I wanted from Goo Hae Ryung when she was confronted with YI Rim being the Prince. However, her saying she was hoping he wasn't the Prince felt perfect.   Oh my goodness! I love that Goo Hae Ryung kept just writing that Yi Rim turned another page and another page and another page and another page.  It was great that she stood up for the Prince Yi Rim as well. Only getting a minor dig in about his ill temper! That said I love the other female historians.  I hope we get more and more of them. Also, I thought it was a joke that Sam Bo had a wife! But she'sthe kick booty arrow lady! Wow! Not to mention Goo Hae Ryung's brother totally recognizes her!

7.0/10 - Great world building.

Goo Hae Ryung and Yi Rim are going through the obligatory getting to know you. In which the female lead gets to clean for the male lead. Why is this such a K-drama trope? I blame Full House. The cleaning scenes. They were trying to brainwash female viewers. That said this episode was a solid followup. It was very interesting to see how the government works. Not to mention how all the advisors can bully the Crown Prince! It's clear these rich and powerful men are looking out for themselves. I mean. Just look how heartless they are about the poor paying the bills. That said I enjoyed the training that the Female Historians are finally getting! I like all the setup here as we get a feel for our characters, and as new ones are introduced. I am beyond intrigued about this whole secret plot and how women are right in the think of it. Not to mention this tie in of the western healing practice to save one of the men connected to the book.

5.0/10 - Average

Yet again an immediate police case. Honestly I thought the writer was going to use this episode to explore the firemen and paramedics more. They did try to make them more apart of the case. Even trying to show in a crime scene that the paramedics can ruin evidence. The case is a bit different, bit in the end it's still an average cop show. The BIG BAD over our underDOG cop is introduced. A secret mystabout a little girl whom I'm assuming is his daughter. So very standard Korean cop show. Honestly I'm super disappointed. I'm holding out hope. I wish that the characters at least were interesting. There's more time to develop them. So maybe it will happen.

5.0/10 - Average.

I am a huge Firefighter show junkie!!!! I've been there from the start of Chicago Fire and whole heartedly jumped into the 911 shows from Fox. (Station 19 is garbage, but I tried it too.) Even Fire Country. So when I realized that Korea had The First Responders and it has a FIRE ENGINE on the poster I was all in. With this first episode I was left very disappointed. Because this is a cop show. *sighs* The paramedics and firefighters were there. There and used super stupidly. *eyeroll* So basically I'll have to just shut my brain off. The problem is I didn't want another cop show. I wanted Firefighters and paramedics Korean style!!!! They at least tried to make the kidnapping interesting, but I was so bored. I like police shows. So I expect a bit more from the cases and mysteries. Overall the acting is crap, the story is basic and ironically very tropey. I am so disappointed. I'll keep going cause there's already a season 2 slated. So maybe things get better.

8/10 - Awesome!

Well it dumped my review and I'm too lazy to rewrite it. I will say very solid follow-up and I'm already invested in the characters! We're starting to see how the characters are connected which is always fun!

8/10 - Awesome

Wow! This is visually stunning. The story is truly stunning and it's quite surprisingly turning into a bit of a feminist anthem. I'm very surprised by how much of a critique Mr. Sunshine is. Of Americans, Joseon, Japan, China, all people of nationalities, and the time period. Caste systems are openly ridiculed. Mr. Sunshine is really doing overtime on connecting all the characters and stories! So far I love the characters and their development as we learn about them and their pasts. Not to mention how they're all connected to eachother and the country of Joseon. Normally age doesn't bother me so much, but it kind of does this time. The ML is waaaaaaay to young for all these dudes. I don't know what it is, but everytime I see her having romantic moments with any of the men it icks me. Maybe that's the piont. If so, well done. I feel like her innocence of life and men, but awareness and ability to kill are also a strategic choice. So far I'm all in!

8.0/10 Awesome.

This was such a treat! I was so worried how the writers were going to move forward with Oh Han Byul and Gong Tae Sung relationship after the press conference. Instead of dragging it out Tae Sung found out all the information and was able to forgive everyone. To mend fences and get his relationships in order. Which is such a huge relief. And something I wish more and more dramas would show and deal with. It just made me smile so much. Many relationships took some hits or scary turns in the last episode. While Yu Na and her man are still suffering a lot of other ones are taking huge steps or at least growing in wonderful directions. The main message is listening to the people in your life. And forgiveness. More importantly we're finally getting information on what happened with Oh Han Byul and Gong Tae Sung 's friend. It's been such a expertly teased secret and build up. Not to mention that final reveal in the last bits of the show. Especially since it tied into such a huge reveal last episode!!!! Well done! The best part is how every couple has me beyond invested. I'm cheering all my couples on. I love being able to love the main couple, but to love all the second, third, and fourth and so on couples. It's so magical!!! I am beyond obsessed with Jo Ki Peum and Do Soo Hyuk!!!! I am so happy that my second lead syndrome was soothed by Do Soo Hyuk being able to have a even better pairing than he could have had with Oh Han Byul. AMAZING!!!

9.0/10 - Pretty fabulous.

Holy dramas, this was one of the cutest episodes I've seen! I couldn't have asked for a better one. Not only for the adorableness of the leads finally getting together and their cute buddy relationship, but bascially this was the episdoe of LOVE. Everyone had some kind of progress and setup for their romance. Love triangles were cemented and a new romance between second leads is born. No really. Jo Ki Peum and Do Soo Hyuk are what I didn't know I wanted. So cute!! There are so many magical setups going on and I won't spoil it.This was one of the best feel good episodes in a drama and I was so happy! My smile hurt my face.

8.0/10 - Some serious setup.

Normally episodes all about setting up the story and characters get low ratings. There's a lot to slug through and I know we need them, but they're usually boring. I was riveted. Yes, it's stunning to look at and that didn't hurt, but I was captivated by each setup. There's a lot of moving parts here and I commend the writer and director for keeping things clear. Bravo. I'm beyond intrigued by all of the characters and how they will interact. I loved seeing the politics building. What makes a man of Joseon become a rebel. A slave of Joseon become an American soldier. The daughter of a rebel a Lady. So on. The politics are amazing. Not to mention that America, Japan, and Korea do not come out looking okay. The writing is bold in showing the hypocrisies of the officials and governments. Bravo. I was impressed. The whole famous quote from Roosevelt at the beginning had me laughing and I honestly thought things were gonna get cheesy. I was worried. However, both America and Korea have dirt of their face here and I appreciated it. So enough about that. The setup is just amazing!!!! I want to see what these characters have become. What they're current goals are. How they've changed or grown. Rebel, soldier, the son of an aristocratic in an abolished government, and the daughter of a patriot. The villains are clearly setup. This episode was freaking brutal!!! What interesting takes. What an interesting time. I feel like this drama is gonna be the one by this writer that I can get behind. Finally. Cheers!

8.0/10 - Awesome.

Okay, honesty time. This was one of those rare occasions where I actually too tired to write notes and do an episode review. So this is sparse. The whole slip side thing was hilarious! Not to mention kind of super cool. Though I feel terrible that she lost the bet!! Plus, she has to be the butt of the work place jokes and deal with it all going viral. I am so curious to meet Jo Ki Peum's boyfriend! Making her yummy food with silly little notes. The noodle actor is fun to see as he joins in and learns the ropes. I'm glad Park Ho Yeong got her man! Not to mention I kind of want to see her in bodyguard mode. It's great to see the noodle actor interacting with the actor who finally got his big break. I'm curious if these to will become rivals, cause I'd rather have them stay friends. It's super nice to see someone Gong Tae Sung cares about. Enough to lie about her cooking. I'm curious to see more of his house keeper. Since he's clearly estranged from his family. It was great to see how amazing Oh Han Byul is at her job. She swoops in to make Gong Tae Sung feel better about being embarrassed by his manager giving out drinks that don't have his face and then the whole underwear and other debacles. Oh Han Byul is a pro. She knows not to just spread his good name, but make him feel better as well. Clearly Gong Tae Sung is really crushing on Oh Han Byul. He was trying to be by her constantly and he got in the food truck ASAP to "help" her out. The ending was so cute with the old couple! Darn I am really enjoying this drama!

7.0/10 - Very good.

Addressing Africa. Let's be real. When have dramas ever been known for being politically correct? I'm not gonna elaborate on Africa. Plenty of other viewers have addressed it in their reviews. I noted the poor representation and stereotyping being done, and moved on. This isn't the worst I've seen in a drama and it won't be the last. There's no point in being stressed. Moving on.To be honest I had no idea what to aspect. I've been out of the drama scene! Sh**ting Stars won the drawing for our drama group and one other drama. I read the synopsis and thought it looked interesting and ended up voting for Sh**ting Stars. Then I realized Lee Sung Kyung would be the ML and I grew very excited! I have slowly become a fan of Lee Sung Kyung! Right out of the gate she's very charismatic and likable as Oh Han Byul! The writing quickly introduces Oh Han Byul and the work she does. It keeps teasing that celebrities, the fans, gossip, and everything celebrity realated is a foolish waste of time. It's pointless and doesn't matter. However, everyone is into it. Oh Han Byul's work is so stressful she's always on demand and can be called in to work at any moment. She can't date and can barely make it through a routine physical that's required for work. (Though she made it through when none of her colleagues did!) This episode was a very solid setup. We know the work, we get to meet all the side characters and people Oh Han Byul works with. A feel for the celebrities and how their managers handle them. The newbies that are stepping into this stressful world where most interns wash out. Side stories for them already teasing viewers! Not to mention a nod to how important managers who can drive well and safely are important. The humor is mixed in well and while I normally get annoyed with bathroom humor the colonoscopy prep was brilliant!!! All of the jokes and humor landed pretty well with me. Especially Oh Han Byul annoyance with Gong Tae Sung. As the episode slowly revealed history. History that Gong Tae Sung whispered to her before he left for Africa: "I won't let you go when I get back." And that she knows him pretty well and there's more to his personality . . . maybe a dark side. ^_-I am so thrilled because there's a candid picture of Oh Han Byul on Gong Tae Sung's wall in Africa. Very much a nod to the super fans he has with his image in their rooms! Not to mention what I think is a college picture under Oh Han Byul's couch!!! I love it when it's clear that the male lead is the one interested in the female lead. Normally those kinds of dramas go very well for me! >_<Overall this is definitely one of the better episode ones I have watched! I love the setup, the world is fun and I love that a manager of a celebrity is a lead! It's rare. So far the writing is strong and clear, and the cast is killing it! The episode flows well and ties in so well at the end I gave a mini applaud to it! 1.0/10 Truly atrocious.

All I'm gonna say is the dog is no longer enough. I watched this on 3 sped so I could just get it over with. Ugh. Ugh. Acting. No. Tropes and plots, kind of painful to watch. Just. Trash. Ugh.
