Normally , I dropped this drama. I had no intention come back but I saw your comment while I was checking the notifications from MDL and I can’t help myself commenting on it.
And I agree with every piece of word you wrote. People who are far away from the pain , depression , fear and danger can’t express true feelings feelings of the ones who really had those feelings before. Both story and direction have failed me because of that. Contrary , I felt cringe when I watched forceful dramatization.
Fabricated story, fabricated acting , fabricated world and a fabricated drama. All of them are fake , all of them are so called and all of them are far from the reality even for a fictional universe.
I just wrote a review on the things what I watched and I didn’t do anything about crossing the personal boundaries of anyone else including actors and actresses yet comments are full of insulting , attacking or blaming.
I watched all Chinese military dramas and I was expecting to be a nice one because of the story but it was a failure with the production , story and other stuff so I dropped it and I criticized everything I found stupid. I didn’t say anything except what happened in story actually. Sorry not sorry.
So if you keep fooling yourself with manipulative reviews , just do it. I knew what I watched and I am free to write what I feel about it.

Every episode is like a filler to me. There is no ongoing plot and ML /FL visit random places to have their moments. The romance is bad and I couldn’t take it anymore. It drove me crazy.
I am watching episode 7. One episode is 43 minutes and FL and ML have been on the road for 30 minutes. FL’s watching cartoons is also 7 minutes. I’m holding myself not drop it. It is really unbearable.
I am getting “Steve” vibes from Saxin lol. I liked Benjamin , Xiao Nan and Saxin trio. Saxin is the grumy , Xiao Nan is serious and Ben is the funny one.

As a kdrama viewer , I do not have high expectations. I watched DOS. I liked it despite that kind of artificiality. I also watched Chinese military dramas like You Are My Hero , My Dear Gardian but this one is one of the fakest dramatic “military(!) shows I have ever seen before.
I can accept that they have to give the characters to interact but every time FL did something , ML appeared to save her or cheer for her like it was his only business. They talked in military camp , they talked in a restaurant and they talked in street and so on. Gosh it was so tiring to watch. Writers tried to give them meaningful dialogues to improve their characters but they talk so dramatic that I can’t take them serious. They are too fluffy for a military drama.

But the simplicity of the plot makes me unbearable for the romance. Not to mention that romance and the chemistry are not top notch. Six episodes have been released but they act like they die for each other lmao. Loving someone is not a simple thing especially for a person who has divorced parents but the girl has already shed tears for the man who saved her even after their first meeting. Always bumping into each other or the fluffy things ML said seemed so fake to me. I just thought that why. What did you find in each other to love so quickly ? It was so awkward.
I am sorry but it is too artificial except a few scenes. I can understand FL is a journalist but she goes wherever she wants and ML saves her again and again. People may like romantic aspects of the story which is also absurd in their conditions but catching chickens , growing vegetables or FL’s using the military place like a touristic place is like a joke to me.
FL had good scenes with the kids or saved some people which was not her duty. She took some photos or live a broadcast and so ? Is that all she can do as a journalist ? ML and FL are stick to each other as if they have nothing to do in such a dangerous place.FL even filmed ML’s trainings with shiny eyes lmao.
ML is a soldier who had traumas but covering bomb with his body from the sniper ? I am sorry but that kind of foolish act is not place of an army even if it is a drama.FL seems a journalist but she acts like a lawyer , speaks on behalf of every character she finds. It was stupid that another guy and her got into a building that a bomb was placed.
We don’t see any real conflict which tells us that it is a dangerous place. There are few cool scenes but where is the pain that make feel us sad for the people there ? They don’t have any side character and story except one person till now.
I don’t understand how people rated 8 with six empty episodes btw. As an emotional person, I didn’t get any scene that makes me rate 8. Only thing that I liked was a short sentence Benjamin said in episode 2. “Bullets don’t care if you are a college graduate.”
Chinese perfectionist so called dramatizing which is far away from the reality seems fun to me but I will keep on watching for Ben and the doctor’s story. I hope they have a better story than the main plot.
I watched it long time ago and I remember I didn’t like new characters as a person who likes season 1. I completed it but I didn’t watch season 3 because of those. After I saw TCH , I think that this is really boring and bad.
