Real talk, why is it so hard for people to accept that actors are good at acting? π€¨
Any kdrama I watch these days, I start seeing people wanting the actors to be together bc "there's no way they can look at each other like that and not *really* be in love!"
I dont get why everyone gets mad about "unnecessary" scenes? to me I think we always need these light not important…
This! Stories need to be balanced. Often, things that aren't crucial to the plot serve to characterize, do worldbuilding and establish relationships. Sometimes, those scenes may serve to foreshadow or work as a Chekov's gun. I know that sometimes we're not as into side characters, especially when their stories feel too separate from the main action, but let's not act like anything that isn't the immediate plot should be cut.
guysss, I'm in ep 8 rn, and I'm so mad that this family is like so rich and everything but this guy run song literally…
Rich people, especially those born to wealth rather than accumulating it, are much more naive that they want you to think. The Hong family believed themselves untouchable, so they let the Trojan horse in
I watched Perfect Marriage Revenge after I had started Queen of Tears and, lemme tell you, the whiplash I got…
THE HAIR BUMP OMG, I'm glad someone mentioned it! It's truly wild how similarly they styled these two characters, doesn't help the confusion AT ALL πππ
Her whole marriage is based on lies. She can get her redemption by taking herself to jail to pay for her crimes,…
Lmaooo, I felt the resigned sigh in this reply. I think she's fine. Obviously, it's not a good thing she did. But she clearly has a rocky past and Eun Sung filled her head with his vision for all their futures, not anticipating that her feelings would grow to be sincere. If they have a nice and honest conversation about who they really are and what they want from one another, I think those two crazy kids can make it!
I can't believe the big villain here was the mother-in-law of our protagonist in Perfect Marriage Revenge ππ…
I watched Perfect Marriage Revenge after I had started Queen of Tears and, lemme tell you, the whiplash I got from going back and forth was crazy. I was almost forgetting which show was which and was going from "wait, I forgot she's not the villain in this one" to "oh, yeah, she's evil again!"
Grandpa Hong going out like that? That was DARK, jfc. But does anyone else think he'll be the plot's 'sacrifice' (like the one in CLOY, if you know what I mean) and Haein will live? Bc idk if they would kill her as well after this. Two deaths in the same family so close to one another might be too much, y'know?
You know that thing they say about how your brain can't tell the difference between fiction and reality when it comes to feelings? Well, it might just be true because the absolute DREAD that I felt on behalf of these characters the entire way through was insane. I went into it knowing the Big Twist of the last ep and it still hurt like a mf. Very good show, don't know if I would recommend going in blind tho.
Saw someone label this as a romance drama and to that person I'll just say, don't spread lies on the internet. There's a difference between a story having a romantic subplot and a story being a romance. This is a very good show, but a romance it is not!
Intimate scenes in kdrama is big no for me. I mean cmon, r we seriously gonna tarnish the image of kdramas with…
You're acting like intimacy is a purely western concept. The show is rated mature, so it contains mature content. The scene serves to establish vulnerabilty and closeness between the characters, something the FL has lacked in her life, so it makes sense for the story. If you're not ready to see mature content, don't watch shows with a mature rating. It's hardly besmirching kdramas as a whole.
Many are saying that Kim Soo Hyun doesnt deserve to be nominated, he is not that great of an actor. EXCUSE ME??I…
I think his character is a decievingly complex one. The fact that people have been passionately fighting about whether Hyunwoo is a good person or not for WEEKS now should tell you that his performance has impacted a lot of people. It kinda flies under the radar bc Hyunwoo presents as a very unassuming dude, but the fact that people feel so strongly about it should tell you that the actor is doing a great job. I don't think that screaming=good acting, so I think he's given a good performance of a very flawed but ultimately well meaning man going through a rough patch. I don't know much about korean industry awards, but I wish Kim Soo Hyun the best!
I heard that queen of tears will have 2 special episodes as it became popular. Can someone confirm is this true?
What does this mean? Two episodes past the 16 ep mark (the amount initially listed), 18 in total? Also, would these air on netflix as normal or would they be bonus content aired elsewhere?
But why do I feel like she needs word of affirmation? Hyun Woo did a lot of act of service to her but sheβs…
Yes! Also, when they were talking and he admitted that he should've asked more about how she was, etc. when they were married, we see in that flashback that she was waiting for him and was presumably disappointed when he didn't say anything to her. She shows love through actions, but wants to recieve it through words of affirmation.
