Eight episodes in and Baek Kyung literally needs to chill, bro literally picks the rudest dialogue/action opition towards Dan Oh every single time. I fully believe that if Dan Oh were a diabetic, this dude would rip out her insulin dispenser and smash it against the floor bc how dare she exist in his proximity while having a chronic illness. Like, I'm sorry your dad is insane and abusive, but wouldn't ignoring Dan Oh be better for you in the long run than going out of your way to make her miserable???
Unbeatable levels of mess, a truly entertaining show. Seriously, this show is like if you always picked the most chaotic dialogue/action option in a video game. Is it a super deep story? No. Is the production great? No, but I'd be lying if I said the entire thing wasn't entertaining as hell. A quick binge for yourself or a fun watch with friends so you can yell at all the insane stuff that happens!
"The ML is a red flag bc he said he was glad his wife was gonna die" And you BELIEVED him??? π€¨π€¨π€¨
The whole point is that they're both flawed people and they both suffered because of the problems in their relationship, but they also BOTH contributed to said problems. We could argue all day about it, but it takes two to tango. It's also clear that they love one another, but hurt and anger can blind us all. Clear and honest communication is important in relationships and it's clear they both failed at that, instead leaving all their wounds to fester over time. Hae-In's family seems to encourage this type of toxic behavior and Hyun-Woo got so deep into their orbit that he began reproducing those patterns as well (which is why I argue 70% of their marital problems woud be resolved if they moved out of that damn compound!). I love the complexity of their relationship because despite all that, they both still really care about one another and are willing to try again. Compelling stuff, I can't help but root for them to be happy!
hehe kidding i also made excuses about each of them although deep down i know they're at fault π€ͺ
You're so real for this, lmao. They both had reasons but they also both contributed to the problems. Acknowledging these reasons doesn't mean they're not both flawed, so I think you're coming at it correctly!
does ml redeem himself for being happy about his wife dying or did everyone just decide to ignore that part? or…
It's 100% more complicated than that. You start to see that just because he said it, doesn't mean he actually meant it. A lot of people online don't seem to understand that nuance. But the show is good, I recommend you give it another shot!
Wait, yesterday I watched eps 3 and 4 on DC? Wym is dead? π³
I haven't checked in a while but that site is taken down every other week, variations always pop up again so it may just exist in a slightly different form!
At first, I thought maybe the issue was with Mercedes being a foreign compnay...but kopiko is foreign, too.
Yeahhh, I couldn't say what the issue actually is. Someone suggested maybe competing brands are mad about it? I'm not a fan of speculation but I haven't seen anyone here or on other social media complain so I find it a bit hard to believe the complaint is coming from audiences. Maybe I'm just not in those specific places, who knows!
can't believe how much i've been missing this drama lately. it's been years, but i still remember how happy and…
Same, I still think about this show and how much I enjoyed watching it. I really loved the main couple and even the side characters! My pfp is literally the FL, lol. Funny, sad, fantastical AND with a happy ending? Truly, this show had it all!
At least cars are useful bc they can be utilized in a transitional scene going from one place to another, what…
Y'all ever seen the 'cerveza cristal' meme? I think about it a lot when it comes to kdrama PPL. At least cars can serve a purpose, unlike characters eating Subway with a giant 'S' hanging in the background. Car PPLs are like those dang samsung phones, I don't mind them bc they tend to just be better/more subtly integrated. Except for the smartwatch in 'Destined With You'. Wtf was that, even π
At least cars are useful bc they can be utilized in a transitional scene going from one place to another, what do we gain from characters getting possesed by the spirit of Kopiko in the middle of a scene and spouting the same line about how awake they feel now, be so fr π
The fact that Hae In has the baby's birth date as her password and Hyun Woo sleeps in what was supposed to be the baby's room?? The singular leftover star on the ceiling???? Oh, I was SICK πππ
No bc the "wilderness" and "barbarism" line had me like π€¨πΈBut my delusional ass is just gonna say that it's…
Yuup! I was just telling someone the other day that the "save africa" stuff is stupid on many levels, and one of said levels is the referring to africa like it's a country and not the HUGE continent it actually is. Do they realize how stupid it would sound to say "save europe" or "save asia"? π
I saw the cup but I think it was pretty much covered by Soo Hyunβs fingers? So I donβt mind so much. Itβs…
Same. I caught it as well but it was very blocked by his finger. Also, people would do well to remember that Starbucks wasn't part of the original list of BDS consumer boycotts, but made it onto the organic boycott list because of people's reactions to the company's response to statements made by one of their unions. The Starbucks boycott is great but it's also not the be-all-end-all of activism.
I think the open ending could've worked, but I am curious to see how Jian and her uncle's relationship would develop after she's discovered so many of his secrets. I'd be interested to see how that changes their dynamic!
My personal biggest issue was the production quality, but at least the show's messiness was enough to keep me watching!
And you BELIEVED him??? π€¨π€¨π€¨

But my delusional ass is just gonna say that it's because they're rich and horribly out of touch, if only so I can sleep soundly at night πππ
