How's the romance in the novel cause I read some reviews of it and I know this writer and she usually does very mutually in love couples like You are my glory instead of just a down bad ML carrying the relationship on his back, is that also the case for these 2 or is it the usual he fell harder trope?

A prison GL? This sounds amazing, a question though how's the actual romance and relationship? I prefer ones where they're as in love with each other rather than one of them being obsessed and the other one not so much.

I really hope they change it in the drama and at least have her look for him but I very much doubt it. And yeah she should've stood up to her parents about the way they treated him especially later on when she finds out what they did, even the people he calls family and the love of his life treat him this way and that's just heartbreaking and you're right it's not romantic and masculine it's a display of deep trauma, that seems like it will be glossed over here.

It's so strange to me because if this was the other way around you know this would never happen, somehow when the FLs are the ones with this kind of life the ML will always put them first and stand by them and yet even when it's the ML with this kind of like they're still the ones who will always put the FL first.

What kind of love is it if an abandoned kid with no family go through so much alone while the person he loves more than anything is living her life without a care in the world only to come back when he's got it all together and the fact that he's trying to get her parents to accept him just makes it so much more sadder, she should be the one doing that, she's been pampered and loved all her life while he's been the opposite so their relationship should be at least a balance of love and care instead it's the exact same patterns.

That sounds incredibly unfair and just so so sad and he deserves so much better like wow it's really hard to root for them rn and want them to be together...

His life sucks so he's dealing with his injury and accident and she's in Canada living the good life it's crazy that she doesn't wonder what happened to him or try to find him ugh. Even while losing his leg and his livelihood he still thinks about her first which sounds romantic but is so toxic because that's when you prioritize yourself and it's really depressing that she doesn't do the same for him and by the end even his partner isn't the person who will always be there for him and he basically has no one (other than his friends).

Thanks for the answer that sounds better so she plans to come back soon? so she contacts him and he doesn't answer but doesn't she wonder what's going on with him and go looking for him? because she knows how much he loves her doesn't she wonder why he would just cut off contact and wow her dad sucks, I read that he doesn't think he's good enough and deserves to be anyone's priority in the novel and her leaving just confirms that which just makes me sad the writers aren't writing them in a way that shows him he is someone's priority which is weird since it's his whole trauma...

But how does she leave if she knows he's severely hurt since in the preview she does see the accident and she doesn't come back for years.. I'm so confused because no matter the circumstances this isn't how you treat someone you love who is going through such trauma if he did this to her everyone would crucify him but of course he would never.

Can I ask what happens with his accident in the novel? Does she not know or ? Because I read she leaves to another country or something.

I don't think this applies to WDBTD, LBFAD, YAMH or WTPR in all 4 I felt both leads were as in love and as ready to do anything for each other and I personally prefer it that way. A man willing to burn down the world for his woman is amazing but a great epic love story is always when it's both of them and it never takes away from the love it only adds to it.

I am hesitant because some of the comments do make it seem like while the FL reciprocates a lot, it's the usual case of dramas where ML does more for her and is more devoted but I'll give it a shot.

Your comment cracked me up. I think this our new normal now. You can't have a romance without a ML like that these days, the best we can hope for is that they actually give him a personality outside of that and that the FL reciprocates his feelings if not a 100% then at least 80%. Hopefully 2026 is better in this regard but I'm not very optimistic.

I'm so glad we're getting a 2nd season and not only that but that we get the cast AND the talent behind the camera i.e the writer and the director back.

Nice detailed review , I do want to watch this for the cases but how much romance and chasing from the ML is there because half the comments are about how much he's chasing her and she's reluctant and I do not want to watch this kind of one sided relationship even in my non-romance dramas.

Great review the drama sounds lovely and heartwarming; can I ask how mutual the romance is? Is it something like Wanna be and Fated hearts where they're both as supportive and in love (love the moment in your gif btw) or more a couple where the ML is more devoted ?

Literally me everytime another drama tries to do the smart FL trope I'm just like... Ming Lan did it soooo much better.

-Yan Ruo likes Ming lan because they've spent time in the same classroom together for years and he can see that she's a smart, kind and beautiful girl, there's not that much to it.
-They will explain later why ML's older brother hates him but essentially they're from 2 different mothers and he thinks ML's mother caused his mother's death.
-ML and FL's brother do look a little bit alike but you will be to tell them apart soon enough.

So this is not for me after all, I don't like relationships where it's one person doing all the heavy lifting and I've seen plenty of younger MLs who go all out and prove their love for the FLs it's just a matter of writing so I think if they wanted to show her love they would have, too bad everything else about this seemed like something I would enjoy, thanks for the answer.
