Lmao. You make it sound like Xiang Liu was able to "enter" Xiao Yao's heart because of the bugs, when the truth,…
I am very sure that when Xiangliu took on the bugs, neither he nor Wen Xiaoliu 'loved' each other at that point at all... The old Lirong uncle already warned him, that the bugs are not well understood, and taking them on will 'lead to endless troubles' which looks like what Xiangliu is going through.
How do you know they have not turned into heartbreak bugs? I really question where Xiangliu is getting his stabbing pain from when he stood there looking at Xiaoyao being carried by Tushan Jing in S1 - is that enough to make him feel heartache over? Isn't that at most a scene that would incite some jealousy? What's that pain about?
When he let her go to Jing in S2, and he sent that stabbing pain to Xiaoyao, I still think that is the constant pain he carries with him, except most times he keeps it suppressed with his spirit power.
Its sad for Xiangliu that you all keep moaning about how tragic he is but you overlook the burden he chose to carry by taking on those bugs.
Tonghua having Sang Tian'er, Jing ye, Lirong Chang and Xiangliu all working hard to make sure yaojing is going…
I wonder if you realize what you say because its like commenting about a widow 'is not that upset over losing her husband but probably also because she will have to worry about paying her house mortgage alone now'... You don't call that belittling Xiaoyao's grief over losing Jing? Just to convince yourself that she don't love him' that much'?
Are you completely ignoring how Xiaoyao chose to remain alone for the rest of her lifespan just to remember him and refuse to forgive Cangxuan by staying with him when he offered? She went against her very plan in her life for Jing. I think the author can't make it any clearer than that, how important Jing was to Xiaoyao.
With Ep12, we have passed the halfway point for LYF S2
In the race into Xiaoyao's heart that is "so hard that a man can't get in even after 50 years" shall we summarize the current race standings in a nutshell
Cangxuan : I was already in her heart long before you guys came along... watch me as I keep doing stuff and I will still be her number 1! *confident face*
Tushan Jing: I didn't know I was already in her heart... wow its sure nice in here... just so happy to be here... *blissful face*
Xiangliu: I cheated my way in here with the bugs connection... but now Xiaoyao didn't know I actually wanted to be in her heart... guess the joke's on me now...*wry sad face*
Fenglong: Heart? What heart? I didn't get a memo from Cangxuan to get inside Xiaoyao's heart? We have no time for that now, we got wars to win! *No-time-for-this-shit face*
Seeing the preview for ep 14, I feel robbed of the scene that should have taken place between XY and her mother.…
Seeing how they barely made the death maze scene work in S1, where the flames are already out by the time the guards went in, its no wonder they written out this entire arc.
Budget wise they probably not up to creating an impressive 'Dune' kind of burning desert set...their technology can't show fire realistically and its fine they chose not to endanger their actors trying to achieve it.
Just feel very upset because in drama version, Xiaoyao would never get the emotional payoff that novel Xiaoyao got to see her parents again for the last time... She is still feeling abandoned by her mother and that is such a shame.
Well I enjoyed that... but they shouldn't have cut off XL and Jing's conversation T T
Er... force a romance? Yaojing's romance has always been constantly there since S1... The drama already removed so many sweet scenes from S2 already...including the entire pre-wedding honeymoon...
Production even steals lines from Jing to give to Xiangliu to say... Not being able to choose one's parents, that was originally said by Jing to Xiaoyao before they left Uncle Lirong's place...
As someone have said, Xiangliu plays a mentor/friend role in Xiaoyao's life, if you keep trying to hope for more you are not going to find it in the novel or the drama.
Were XY goes when she is feeling sad and lost? Oh, yes, in search for Xiang Liu.
She did not go searching for Xiangliu. He was just there, because he also 'stalks' her.
After hearing the shocking confirmation, she could only go to the one man she knew who actually knew her father, to ask about him - Old Lirong Uncle.
Looks to me like Xiaoyao will get words of comfort from Xiangliu like he is her 'therapist' but she will always go 'home' into Jing's arms for comfort.
I know he killed his brothers but don't know about his father. Besides his brothers were all planning to kill…
Yes I believe he was very guilty about killing his own father in the novel. He was incoherent and only rambled in front of Xiaoyao and Jing when they visited him so we didn't get much details. There might be more story about this in the prequel of LYF, Once Promised.
The Rebellion of the five princes was the event where his brothers had an uprising that tried to kill him and take over his throne soon after the end of the great war. After Chenrong fell, the world was in chaos, so it was a good time for the tribes to try to destabilize Haoling and take over.
That was the main reason the King decided not to bring Xiaoyao back to Haoling. He thought that it was safer for her at Mount Jade, but he didn't realize she was suffering by herself and would eventually run away.
King of Haoling did not invade other countries. He just focused on ruling his own country and improve the lives of his citizens. As Xiaoyao noted when she returned, the place was more prosperous than she remembered in her childhood. His only known 'weakness' in his rule that he admitted, was that he was uncompromising in his decision to only have one consort in his palace. He indulged himself that one thing which led to difficulty in controlling the different tribes since he couldn't gain support and connections through family but had to do it by 'force'.
This is really sad. I wish they could have just released a better final product. The scene cutting is horrible!
They just shot 60+ eps of footage at one shot over 6 months... S2 was doomed since they have opted to cut out alot of important scenes due to budget limitations so we won't get much emotional payoff that had begun in S1. Yet they want to retain the overall structure of the story... so we end up with so many disjointed scenes and dialogue that gives us whiplash because basically they are just rushing through a checklist of the shots, buffered with plenty of flashback scenes.
Tonghua having Sang Tian'er, Jing ye, Lirong Chang and Xiangliu all working hard to make sure yaojing is going…
XY fell unconscious for a few days after she tried to look for Jing... She just cried a little for Xiangliu... that was what my comparison was based on..
The first assassination attempt, XY nearly died when she was lured out to sea and she gave up fighting her assassin. She was ready to join Jing in the sea... it was clearly written in the novel.. Her grief was so raw that Xiangliu made her take an oath not to die, knowing that he was the one who have Jing in his hands... for that, I don't like the novel XL over this point.
"She lived quite ok without Jing for years" Did you skip all the parts where she kept missing and seeing Jing everywhere? Even after her second assassination attempt, the person she saw in her delirium was Jing. She was not well, every full moon especially, she kept waiting for him to return... the final straw was when she found out, Jing was killed over her.
Why are you pissed? In the novel she came with this idea for delaying her marriage to jing herself, without anyone…
Actually in the novel and drama, she wanted to work on this medical project.
In the novel, they got engaged officially and she continued working on the project first before they wed. In the drama, she was actually planning to get married to Jing right away and then start work. That's why she said it will cause delays to the project. CX manipulated her into thinking she shouldn't make things difficult for Jing with the clan elders and so she decided to do the project first.
Am I the only one who preferred Xiao Yao's character when it was disguised as a man? Once she became the princess,…
Wen Xiaoliu is someone who is a survivor, 'he' acts cool and uncaring but 'he' is still Xiaoyao on the inside... The real Xiaoyao, comes with all her unresolved emotional baggage... you only think she is 'weak' because now that she has her guard down with people she can rely on, she had revealed her softer side... She has always been gloomy, daredevil, and also passive as Xiaoliu and running away was her first instinct to any problem... Only now she chose to face her problems head on, that is her character growth.
Tonghua having Sang Tian'er, Jing ye, Lirong Chang and Xiangliu all working hard to make sure yaojing is going…
Honestly, deep down Xiaoyao always knew that was going to happen with her friend. If you look at how fast she got over XL's death, I actually expected you to be mad at her..
Xiaoyao fell into coma after Jing died, and she was ready to die during her first assassination to join him, because he died... I don't see that happening with XL's case at all...She was all ready to start a new life with Jing...She looked pretty blissful in the novel as she left with her husband..
In addition, in the novel, why would I have to worry about Jing being underwater for? They are living in the islands away from the mainland, out of Cangxuan's kingdom...also they have fish core... and all Jing needs to do is swim now and then... I am thinking more Hawaii/Maldives than Little Mermaid here...
Actually to me, Xiaoyao escaped to the open sea with Jing to be free from Cangxuan's rule... she never really trusted her brother again and she cannot risk him trying to kill Jing again in future... I don't think she was happiest out at sea with XL during her coma... most of the time she was bored and missing her family and Tushan Jing...
PS why do you say often to me: 'as a Jing fan'... I am team yaojing I love them both..
The old Lirong uncle already warned him, that the bugs are not well understood, and taking them on will 'lead to endless troubles' which looks like what Xiangliu is going through.

"A condition in which a patient is in a state of deep sleep and cannot be awakened."
昏迷 = coma
小夭昏迷了四日,鄞说她身体一切正常,可她却好像得了重病,昏迷不醒。即使在昏迷中,她都会痛苦地颤抖,却就是醒不来。
The novel repeats those words so many times...
Are you seriously just ignoring Xiaoyao's sufferings so you don't have to deal with what it means?
Budget wise they probably not up to creating an impressive 'Dune' kind of burning desert set...their technology can't show fire realistically and its fine they chose not to endanger their actors trying to achieve it.

In both the novel and the drama...
Maybe you should re-read the chapter... ??

Ep12 may answer something you asked me before ... I guess that is Tonghua's reply to all the 'feedback' over yaojing over the years...
