Title Joy of Life
What a good drama !!! I often find chinese dramas, 40+ eps, too long to finish so I often ended up dropping them partway. Only a handful naturally draws me in to complete the entire series. JOL is definitely one of them!!

I ABSOLUTELY TOTALLY WHOLEHEARTEDLY am heads-over-heels for WYEL, and I've already put aside all other BLs, Thai, Taiwan, etc etc.

But, I just watched the new ep 2 EoL:TILS, can't say I like it as much as WYEL, but it fondly reminded me of some cute stuff in ThaiBL.

1) signature blue shorts pink shirts for boys, the engineering shirts with a pocket like thing on the left shoulder for a pen,

2) Those braces, and I mean this with affection. I think Thai entertainment companies and Thai actors are the ONLY businesses where they have no qualms about showing braces on camera. Benz has it here in TILS. Ohm had it, Sing had it, etc etc.

3) I might not have watched enough BLs yet to say this, but I think ThaiBLs have the most number of LadyBoys, some are very pretty too. Jenny in YYY, I first watched her in her talk show 'Wrong Say Do' and I thought she was really attractive. Green in 2G, although I'm not sure if he counts as a LB since he was not cross-dressing, but he was definitely cute. There's one charactor in TT, I can't tell if 'she' was really a woman or a LB. 'She's' one of the 2 students who rumored Type as an anti-gay in social networks. She looked completely female and good-looking to me, but I'm not sure. If anyone know, please tell me.

4) Those sound effects. They are just hilarious. like a 'whack' sound when someone only lightly hit another. The 'crow' sound or that 'japanese toy drum' sound when they are in an embarassing or awkard situation. That funny background music when Nuea was in his chat group ep2 TILS. I don't think I've heard those in any other BLs except Thai's. But I might be wrong since I haven't watch a lot of BLs yet

5) aways the 1 girl among the engineering groups of all BL-boys. The ME one was so funny when she complained that all the handsome boys surrounding her are all BLboys.

There are probably more endearing qualities that are unique to ThaiBLs, and I'm still very fond of them.

To me, WYEL is still way superior than most BLs out there. I was naturally drawn to watching it, whereas some other BLs, even the popular ones like Trapped Obsessed TT 2G WRU etc , I had to put some effort to focus to watch them.

To me, the chemistry, the story line, the acting skills, the camera angles and shootings, the handsome leads, Gook's BODY!!! and Martial art skills, etc etc etc, they are all top notch.

Plus I give WYEL credit for showing pretty accurate details of real life Korea's richy-rich. I mean, it was weird that in ME, B demanded D to buy him a rose a day. It was even weirder that D complied. But I think that's probably the cute side unique to ThaiBL.

Anyhow, I'm still thinking about WYEL, been 2+ days already. But am also reminded of ThaiBLs.

Back to finishing a wuxia, distractions work well.

Cheers

AND THAT BODY TOO!! I thought I was going to have a nose bleed. LOLI think combing the hair down in the front…
It's called Jal Pa Gin Love. It's one of those cheezy mini series, but I like a dose of those once in a while.

And yes, I like the hairs up too :-)

can we also talk about how jang euisoo is 30 yet pulled off the student role so well
AND THAT BODY TOO!! I thought I was going to have a nose bleed. LOL

I think combing the hair down in the front tends to make a guy look younger. Mew did that too in TT. He looked alot more mature in the end with his hair 'gelled up'.

He's actually a good kisser on camera. Check this one out.

He was planning to go to Japan
the sub could very well be wrong. I don't speak korean, so I depend on the subs.

Frankly speaking, the last two “episodes” did neither display the same depth of character nor did they carry…
You mean the 2010 one? with Tae Sup and Kyung Soo as the gay couple? Yes, I like that one too. It's the other extreme in terms of length, it's 63 eps each 1hr+ long.

He's already in Japan according to youtube's sub, in the lastscene by the water. But sub could be incorrect.

I don't think there'll be a season 2. From what I experienced in the regular KDramas, they hardly make other seasons, even the popular ones. They tend to just name the dramas under 'season 1' even though there'll be no more additional seasons.

But I find they churn out Kdramas quite fast. Normally 16eps each series. So I'm guessing we'll be seeing other KBLs without waiting for too long.

Also, unlike ThaiBLs where there are specific ships (like BrightWin, TopGun, etc), in the regular Kdramas they mix and match leads, and create new pairs all the time. But I'm not sure how they will structure KBL's culture though. I guess we'll wait and see.

btw, having said all that, Netfix is airing 'Kingdom 2' , sequel to 'Kingdom 1', LOL. So I guess you can scrap everything I just said LOL.

But Kingdom is horror though, not that it means anything, just thought I'd add it in.

Honestly, how can it be that the episodes are translated into Myanmar already, but not into English?!? :-S

We even got a kiss. I watched it at 5am (my time zone) just to see if they will have the balls to do it ...
2 KISSES! 2 KISSES! more than 1 LOL. Well, they were back to back within the same scene, but there were smiles sandwiched in between, so lets count that as 2 kisses instead of 1. ;-)

Just a question, dramas with BL as a sub plot, or bromance drama, are those in the BL catergory? Because Winter…
Thanks ! No it's not just you. It seems to me there're common understandings as to what BL is, I'm just not sure what they are. Cheers. :-)

you won't believe me but I actually liked the ending of 2gether , I didn't like those 2 episodes with pam. but…
Good for you and I'm with you on this. Actually I did not mind the 'high five' at all, and 2g is still one of my favourite series (that's why I put "most" in my comment). But last time when I posted that I liked it, in the middle of people feeling let down, I think I got someone feeling even worst than they already were feeling. So I kind of skipped that part this time. lol. Cheers.

But why just 8.8 ?
Just a question, dramas with BL as a sub plot, or bromance drama, are those in the BL catergory? Because Winter Begonia, Prison playbook, and The Untamed are over 9.

I'M SOOOOOOOO HAAAAAAAAAPPYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!! I should add 'TOO' as well, since I see plenty of people being happy watching the ending, from the reviews. I CAN'T WAIT FOR MORE K-BLs !!!!!!!!

It's totally understandable that some reviews did not like the 'restrains', which could be perceived as 'not brave enough'. I believe it's more the Korean culture to protect the gay partner from being ridiculed by others, especially when they are still young and are living under the father's 'contol'. So they reframe from admitting their feelings, which in a way they did 'beat around the bush'. However they would consider that as being more 'virtuous' and 'geniune love' than to date in secrect. In such situation, hiding an act is considered 'cowardly', whereas hiding your feelings is considerd 'highly considerate' of the other. There will be people disagreeing with such mentality and will find it frustrating, and view that they are not honouring what is in their hearts. But remember Korea is still not as accepting as other places regarding LGBT+ issues, unlike say Thailand, US, etc.

Just my opinion.

I'M SO HAPPY!!! I'M SO HAPPY!!! I'M SO HAPPY!!! I'M SO HAPPY!!! I'M SO HAPPY!!!

Did I tell you I'm so happy??? LOL I can keep saying that until someone reply to my comment telling to stop being annoying LOL.

OK, I'll stop for now ;-)

Raising a glass to you all :-)))
