What an acting feast it was! Hands down one of the best dramas I've seen lately when it comes to all the actors' performances. No weak links. Everyone killed it.
Unless I put it on 1.25x I can’t watch any dramas, so I should stop watching any dramas at all because they’re…
That's actually quite interesting - I understand it's a habit now so it'd be difficult to use different way. I actually once tried this but it was just not for me. I actually have a friend who does almost the same thing (he firstly checks the ending if possible lol) and I don't get him at all 😅 The good thing is that you do not waste that much time like the rest 😉
criticisms are not toxic, you mind your language and present legitimate arguments to why it did not work then…
Completely agree but it seems that we have to deal with many fake reviews etc. lately and there is lack of reasonable discussion. I actually comment here because I'm curious of others opinions and how we perceive the same things differently. That's what always brought me here.
Everyone has different taste and that's understandable. Not everything is for everyone.

Tbh I cannot understand how you can watch any dramas at faster speed but maybe that's just me. That's your preference but it's not normal way of watching any type of content if it is to be enjoyed fully. It seems a bit like you watch STH only for the sole sake of crossing it out from your watchlist (hope I'm mistaken though).
I wonder how you watch anything at cinemas when you have to deal with normal pace? Or is it just dramas?
I wonder when mydramalist comment section became so toxic?
I watched all seven episodes during past two days and I didn't have time to lurk here. Tbh I'm quite surprised to see all those critical reviews. I expected many people to like it. On a side note, I think Netflix, tik tok, reels etc. ruined dramas for many. I guess if you have to skip scenes or watch at faster speed then a drama is not for you and that's fine. I'm a huge fan of Sweet Home or Alice in Borderland and I enjoyed it so far but it's different.
Firstly, this is not a rom-com drama and expecting this of every drama is shallow. There is a romance sub-plot as the potential feelings of ML also stay behind his motivations to enter the hospital and then aid help to many but it's not main focus (at least not yet).
Secondly, I actually like the slow peace as it helps to take in everything that's happening and build the tension and focus on the dialogues (I agree that some scenes were a tad draggy). Every scene is for a reason and thought through - you just have to pay attention and fast-forwarding will not do - it'll make you lose all subtle interactions. The dialogues are important. I don' have any reservations to acting at all - I think everyone was brilliant.
Thirdly, I like how it tackles a Japanese occupation over Korea - I feel like the monster is just an addition to what they really wanted to focus on. i.e. the way Koreans were deprived from basic rights and how many innocent lives were lost. I like the scene in which Chae Ok asks who is the real monster out there (we all know).
if is not your genre I think you might feel bored. FL and ML don’t have chemistry and it’s also hard to be…
Well, it's not a romance drama so the main focus lays elsewhere. I don't think it's boring if you know what you're watching (i.e. the drama that depicts Japanese occupation of Koreans with addition of monsters). From my perspective the slower scenes help to build the tension and the dialogues are important. It's different than Sweet Home or Alice in Borderland.
Honestly, the comment section on MDL has been pretty hateful and toxic lately. There are decent people who comment…
Totally agree. I detest those who either comment or rate the drama as "1" while not even watching it as they're "fans" of a different drama (side-eyeing y'all).
Contrary to some opinions I'm not disappointed at how Sam Dal is reacting.
I also hope that she won't give up her profession. People are saying here and there that she's not doing enough to get her name back but I think she's not ready yet. She needs time to look at her life from a distance and she's still too much into her feelings to think objectively. We saw today how she was shaken up - she genuinely was doubting herself whether her behavior may have caused a suicide attempt. That was the most important to her - not the stolen ideas or her image, and that speaks VOLUMES about her character.
We know that the smartest thing right now would be to release the articles about that horrible assistant and sue her but I don't think Sam Dal wants to ruin someone's life as it was done to her. She wants the assistant to ruin everything herself with her own hands and that would be the perfect outcome imo.
Still, I have hope that she will stick to being a photographer, and in the end she will be able to show all those people who gave up on her that she was innocent all along.
As to Yong Pil - it's pretty obvious that he's still in love with her and hasn't moved on for the past years, but is it really something bad? I want him, however, to decide whether he would pursue Sam Dal once again (without dragging it) or take a step back. He cannot behave like he's some kind of satellite orbiting a planet because it becoming insufferable and he's only hurting himself. I really like how he's always on her side though and I don't think being a green flag here is boring.
It's SO good! I like the way Death is teaching him a lesson.
The production is top notch and the storytelling is intriguing. The chase and action scenes were amazing. I also think they chose suitable actors for their roles.
I missed Lee Jae Wook and he gave such a memorable performance! Ryeoun was hilarious and Jang Seun Jo fit the action scenes perfectly. And Lee Do Hyun! Cannot wait for the rest.
It's picking up! I'm so curious about what happened between them in the past and how they're going to fix it. I think we'll be in our feels in the upcoming episodes.
I'm so glad that this project is turning out so well for Ji Chang Wook and that he was paired with Shin Hye Sun.
The "rainwater is shooting from the ground" scene from ep. 5 was done so nicely and the scene of the company dinner was simply hilarious! Jealous Tae Ha is so funny and Yeon Woo is so oblivious of the effect she has on other people (well, men mostly). I knew Tae Min would treat her fondly in the end - she's too endearing.
I hope Yeon Woo will stay in new Joseon - she was too modern to live in the past and now her talents will be fully appreciated. She's also been saving Tae Ha over and over again and I guess the ultimate goal is to save him from death and stay? The grandpa definitely knows something.
Sa Wol and Mr. Hong flirting will be a death of me lmao.
I don't know if anyone else paid attention to what Mr. Joo said to Do Hee before her wedding. She referred to two plants being mutants having non-mutant descendants and then said "both of you are the biggest mutants ever". I think that means that Do Hee is changing and cannot be considered a normal human anymore. What if all the powers will be ultimately hers?
I also think that it's now obvious that there is a link between Do Hee and Gu Won from the previous life and now we'll be learning about their past and how it impacts their future. The tarot card "Wheel of Fortune" was also an interesting giveaway and allusion to their fate.
Oh, I also loved how Gu Won decision to marry Do Hee was not mainly because of his feelings towards her (that he's still trying to deny) but because he put her first and didn't want her to die.
This drama's ending scenes are masterpieces. It's always so impactful.
Btw I've read so many articles recently about bashing Song Kang's acting and seeing him here and in Sweet Home - I don't think he's that bad and I don't get the negative reviews. I think that he's using his eyes and expressions quite well.

I'm intrigued to see how it ends.

"Being with you is the best treatment." The hugging scene as well. They're the cutest.
They killed with the ending scene once again. Those sprinklers were a genius idea.

The childhood friendship is so precious!

I think the last few weeks we had a vast choice of pretty good dramas.
