I get that people feel frustrated with Deok-im's constant rejections. I think the writer should have stopped having them lash out at each other once she got kicked out of the palace. In that scene where they meet in Cheongyeon's house at night, the writer should have portrayed the distance in their relationship and how broken it was over having them argue again because then it would feel like they had almost reached a point of no return and would tie really well with San's question about if things really can't return to what they were before.
In any case, I do want to defend Deok-im though because I feel people focus so much on her rejections that they also don't spare time to think about how San pushes her for an answer she can't give. Every time he confesses, he is looking for one particular answer, but we all know she can't give that answer to him because her pride, her self-love, and her values and beliefs stop her from doing so. He questions whether she is his, but he doesn't seem to realize she's always been his person...even before her pledge to protect him. She's protected him even when he didn't know. I think that's also why the conversation at the bridge where he thanks her was so important too.
I, again, hope this writer can allow for more of Deok-im's perspective. I know that as a court lady, she often cannot express herself freely, and we have to rely on her facial expressions or what she says to other court ladies to reveal her thoughts. However, it would be nice if we could get some inner monologue scenes so people can understand the turmoil she feels better instead of being confused over her actions.
Why do I feel like one of Deok Im's friend is gonna be like head court lady who got jealous, especially Bae Kyung…
Jealous of what? The way Kyunghee is characterized, it seems she's quite level-headed. She doesn't want the glamour and looks out for her safety and is very proud of being a court lady. I feel like she will probably have the smoothest life out of all of them.
The crown prince is really royalty and his father really killed all those people like a mad man or was he adopted?…
The Crown Prince is Crown Prince Sado's son. Crown Prince Sado dealt with mental issues and was quite violent as the Palace Court Lady mentioned. He killed lots of people. People are worried that the Yi San will turn out like his dad.
Interesting perspective for this topic. More than anything, I'd say these dramas show the growth in Gu Man's works. Love O2O is what I would have enjoyed as a young teenager. It's cheesy and light with perfect leads (smart, beautiful, and successful in their endeavors). It's largely unrealistic but something you can enjoy without thinking too much about it. You Are My Glory is what adults would appreciate. It's slow-paced (can be polarizing) but grounded in reality. The leads are still gorgeous, but they each have their individual goals they strive to achieve and lives outside of their romantic relationship.
Also, Qiao Jing Jing should get more appreciate as a character. She's playful but very level-headed when it comes romance and work.
TKA is one of my favorite dramas! YAMG and TKA are different drama genres so they probably shouldn't be compared…
Ah, I saw that drama too hahaha. The dramas first half is a more subtle romance, so you'd have to look for the small details to get the romance, but the second half speeds things up once their relationship begins.
Sometimes, a drama doesn't appeal to others though, and that's fine. Everyone has different preferences anyway.
I found this drama extremely boring compared to King's avatar :/
TKA is one of my favorite dramas! YAMG and TKA are different drama genres so they probably shouldn't be compared though since TKA focuses on e-sports and friendships while YAMG focuses on romance/professional lives with gaming as just the link to how the two leads reconnect.
Uh, I don't know who spread the second season news, but I just saw a Weibo post from Cheng Xiao Bar (fanclub) that Cheng Xiao never said there would be a second season. There probably isn't going to be one.
Not sure how to feel about the episode increasing considering how short the novel was. I hope, then, that they expanded more on the aerospace engineering part and Jingjing's job as an actress.

It's a sad FMV though, so just keep that in mind.
