The CGI is so perfect in this show!

A drama which was fun from start to finish. Loved it!

I don't remember when exactly because it's been too long since I read the book, but it was around the time the other love interest appears.

I'm liking this more than I thought I would. Them playing parents is adorable. Xixi is the best part of the story.

Lol the romance is slowburn but definitely he's the one who shows signs of falling first. Our girly is just too caught up in her goals to notice.

Beware of some spoilers! Of course. The fact that she being a woman is a general in ancient China setting itself means she's outwitting him in every sense. He is absolutely blown away when he finds out. And the only reason he finds out is because she is his underling now due to plot reasons, and him being her superior gives him the position to investigate her. Otherwise he never would have ever known. The romance scenes are quite funny rather than swoon worthy because she's too caught up in her revenge to notice that he's awfully jealous of her being around other love interests. There's no sweeping off of feet on both ends actually. Of course all the other men around are going gaga for her but not our ML because he's also badass af. They're just so powerful and in tandem that there aren't any instances where either of them is swooning because of each other. Equals to the bone. The best scene is where the ML just announces he's in love with her and asks the emperor to grant their marriage in front of the whole world lmao (says that it's to save her but we know he's a sneaky ass b). She's just like, I thought you hated me?? Their relationship is based on absolute trust and respect for each other. No betrayals, no misunderstanding, no nonsense. Of course, this is all from the novel. I really hope the drama does a good job in depicting them as it is.

What I love so much about this story is that the ML and FL are both fantastic. Of course our female general is the main character and she's awesome beyond limits, but the male lead is by no means her underling or sidekick. He's the main character of his own story. Personally, I find this ML the coolest out of all other ones by this writer. In other stories, the FLs are feisty noble ladies and MLs are princes or dukes. But in this story there is no power imbalance. They are both self-made generals. What makes the ML so attractive is that he's so charismatic. Sure the FL is powerful and smart, but he's even smarter. There are so many strong FLs that are arrogant and their MLs are soft and fawny. But these two here are rivals to the bone. He fights her and he outwits her not because she's a woman but because she's a formidable rival. Their romance is heart-fluttering as hell. I can't wait for this to air, they're my most favourite couple ever!

Novel is really popular. It's by the same writer of The Double and has other novels even more popular that haven't been adapted into dramas yet. As a novel fan I feel like the cast is really on point so it's really exciting!

Feng Weiran and Jiang Yanan are my favourite pairing of this show. I've never seen any drama have a married couple with such a healthy relationship. They are genuine and so in love after being married for so long. Even their fights are sweet. They would make such a cute story if they had a drama about them. Such a cute and silly couple!

People complaining about Cheng Hui and Sheng Nina are funny. Why expect so much from a 3rd couple lol? Besides they held hands and it was implied that they started dating and were caught by the media. And the friends were super happy and surprised by it. With Cheng Hui's personality would there really be a make-out session when the relationship hasn't even developed that far at this point?

Sheng Nina is such a beauty, I fall in love with her every time she's on-screen.

I love their friend group to bits and pieces! Even the silly married couple is endearing and Cheng Hui is Cheng Hui. They remind of of WIFTY. So silly and sweet.

Calm down... just don't watch it. I personally find their friendship precious and would love it even if they didn't get together and stayed friends.

I love love love how the whole kiss scene focused on Seunhyo's very minute yet complicated emotions. In fact this whole week was all about him, just like last week was about Seokryu.
Also I don't think Seokryu not being nervous or not showing much emotions was a bad thing at all. Just look at her gaze (Queen Jung Somin I bow down to you), clearly it SCREAMS that she's just so madly into him. Which is so sweet, considering Seunghyo's one-sided love was the main plot of the drama. This just shows that she burns for him just as much as he yearns for her. I love it!

Choi Seunghyo is like a character out of a romance manhwa. You know how the drawings show the blush on the cheeks so vividly and how each emotion is amplified clearly on the faces? That's what he is! The kiss killed me. This is how friends to lovers is done right!
