Unfortunately it will be a some time before we get novels that complex in terms of characters and story. Wished more shows don't shy away from these types of wuxias too. It'll also be a good opportunity for cdrama actors and actresses to showcase their talent for a wide variety of genres not just romance after romance (modern or ancient china)

There's other versions of TSPW but Laughing in the Wind is the most complete. Doesn't stray from source material as far as I know.
Did a bit of thinking and I think Jin Jong is such a master at character development. After thinking about all of the shows based on his novels all characters go through excellent and compelling character development. Even if the main characters are super strong in martial arts by default they still go through tons of development as the plot moves forward. Wished more wuxias nowadays did that.

What I like about Linghu Chong is while it may seem he has a soft spot for little sister he definitely for sure moved on from her. If you watched laughing in the wind it's clear he moved on ever since the other character (don't want to spoil anything) comes into place.

Totally agree. Nothing to take away from any of the actors and actresses but as I grew older (I'm 28 atm) I noticed a trend of wuxias being solely romanced based with combination of a bright colorful environment filter. Older wuxia plots seem to be disappearing with an occasionally appearance of shows like Side Story of fox volant, Blood of Youth, and strange Tales of tang dynasty. I know some shows don't need remakes but I wish they appropriately remade shows like Sword Stained with Royal Blood and A Deadly Secret.
Laughing in the Wind doesn't need a remake it's perfectly fine the way it is but im very curious to see how it would be if it did have a remake with modern cameras and younger actors ππ

Nice sounds good! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Wished there are more wuxia shows like that nowadays. It's very rare to find those types of wuxias.

Sure!!! You have me as a friend on here so feel free to hit me up anytime and let me know. The whole series is on YouTube. I prefer the one translated by the channel called Beibei Sun :)

Absolutely loved it. In fact partly due to it being the first wuxia I was exposed to when I was a kid LOL. As for me, I prefer the more non fantasy wuxias. Something along the lines of Heavenly Sword and Dragon Sabre and Laughing in the wind.
