I totally hear this point of view. On one hand, I enjoy seeing queer themes, storylines, and characters explored in any media. But it becomes a bit convoluted when certain series bypass some of the core elements that are undeniably present in real life. It can feel supportive yet disingenuous at the same time.

As both a gay man and an avid BL watcher, saying this is a BL is… not it IMO. It feels more like a character drama with a character that happens to be queer. There’s an extreme lack of “boy’s love” in a BL marketed show. I feel the Jeongha/Seongwon storyline takes away from the main leads and would be better elsewhere.

That’s valid. I am curious to see Hyeonjae’s fate though, he better get a happy ending……

Might as well share my opinion on the matter. I think the acting is great and the mood is done well, I’m just confused on the writing here.

It's like if someone created a fanfic version of Weak Hero

I want to find myself enjoying this, but the storyline is so underwhelming that I don't know if I can. Characters that barely interact, yet also somehow drastically impact each other's lives for no other reason than to cause chaos? An interesting premise that goes absolutely no where. Besides wanting the best for Hyeonjae, I don't really care much how these character's lives end up. Calling this series a BL feels like a disservice to queer people.
