The real Xu Yin is dead, because Liang Yi brought Ling Yun to Xu Yin's grave and said she was originally thrown to the mass grave by the brothel madam so Liang Yi brought her body to be buried. So only Liang Yi had her face constructed to look like Xu Yin. As for Song Zichu's wife, I'm guessing she's just another pawn that had her face constructed to look like Liang Yi long ago in order to take Liang Yi's place.

You see, the modern ending on ep 30 kisskh ends when Sui Sui saw Jing Yuan in a modern outfit as a crew. Then they fit to the extended scene from extra section on my X, when Sui Sui searched for Jing Yuan when she saw him and it turned out he doesn't remember her in the ancient time.

The empress on last scene is just the actress from the drama Sui Sui had tried to change the script in the beginning. No explanation given as why would she gives that smirk in the end.

I saw in an interview that Jing Yuan's actor is open for season 2(?) with more higher budget and longer episodes. Maybe it's just a whim of an interview, but maybe it could potentially led to somewhere.

I love that he knows she's not the real Xu Yin early! Although not fully knows her real identity, but he's clever enough to pinpoint things.

The extended ending in modern times were continuing from ep 30, so it's not a different ending than those two. You can find it on official MangoTV site in the extra section. Perhaps kisskh not aware that there's an extra episode so they didn't put it.

I really don't get what was ep 31 about... Based on the butterflies, was it like Zhuangzi's Dream of Butterfly or perhaps The Butterfly Lovers?

Edit: From what I saw on rednote, basically both ep 30 (leave) and ep 31 (stay) are the endings, and it's up to us to choose which one we like.

(Ep 16) NOOOO! Not the amnesia trope! I hate that trope... I hope they wouldn't prolong this part. 😭

Edit: Nevermind. I think the amnesia part is necessary and make the storyline more interesting. It could make Jing Yuan think deeply about all the things that happened, so it will give Lin Suisui a chance to explain everything.
