Ahh it doesn't have sexual content? I'm disappointed LMAO XD
Now, I didn't say that. Just no actual nudity which I personally think would have cheapened it. It's a fun, silly little sensual drama that does have lots of non-explicit sex. :)
I think it's because I'm new to the community, but I don't actually know what "cringey" means in conjunction with…
Hmm, so something with more stereotypes and tropes would potentially be cringey to certain viewers, then? That makes sense. I found the 1st season of Itazura na Kiss then to be pretty cringey, but didn't have a word to go with the feeling. Thanks so much for helping me define it! I appreciate your help! :)
So cringey! Can't bear to watch but kinda curious how they end up. So skipped most parts and finally jumped to…
I think it's because I'm new to the community, but I don't actually know what "cringey" means in conjunction with a drama? How do viewers define something as cringey or not? I'm honestly curious because I've never really run across the term anywhere else except watching Asian dramas.
i actually really agree with this post and the ending comments, how jdramas do seem to get lots of hate at times…
Immersive. That's a good way to look at Japanese dramas and film. I've cried more watching Japanese entertainment in the last couple of months than I have in the last couple of years. It's amazing, Japan's ability to tug at the heartstrings like that.
Aww, I love Japanese dramas so much. They give me so much joy, no matter the genre I'm watching. And yes, Death Note and Todome no Kiss are AMAZING! Actually, Kento is just amazing. Great article and I'm glad to see folks encouraging people to watch more Japanese dramas. I'm tired of the hate they seem to get on MDL for some reason.
Is it a good ending or not? And can someone tell ow it ends
Mmm, it depends on your point of view. The ML and FL come to an understanding of each other so I think they'll make it. And she repeats the same behavioral pattern of her mother, which could be seen as either liberating or a sign of her illness. But, me personally, I thought it ended on a hopeful note.
Sounds interesting. I haven't watched the movie yet, but as someone who has suffered from situational depression…
I've seen the movie now and I think the biggest mistake is that she's clearly not on meds and needs to be. I think it was pain medication that she took when she was in the kitchen and that's not going to do anything.
The cafe staff have no experience handling someone with depression, unfortunately, so they're not as understanding as they should be. My guess is that the writer intended them to be viewed that way, actually, since their behavior doesn't really help the situation but rather causes bigger problems and the audience can see that.
It was a powerful film, but there really were no support characters to the FL who were genuinely helping her rather than enabling her. Not even the ML who was trying his best but in the wrong ways, if that makes sense. Still, it was important to see a film about depression that wasn't sugar-coating the illness. There was nothing pretty about it here.
Take the show one episode at a time and don't marathon it. It's entertaining and funny in small doses, more than that and there might be some serious hair rippage going on. And I'm a Yamapi fan, so that's saying something. He's adorable here and his usual silly self.
The only thing that I didn't like about this movie is how the cafe owners talked about depression thinking it's…
Sounds interesting. I haven't watched the movie yet, but as someone who has suffered from situational depression myself, I can say that certain types of depression will get better. Circumstances can change for the better and the depression will go away. At least, that's what happened in my own life.
Sounds like I need to skip this. I just came off dropping a different series with Haruma Miura as a skeezeball so if I want to keep liking him, I'll need to find something else where he plays a better human being.
Can anybody explain to me why Takane loves Junko in the first place? Idk if I missed something or what but all…
It's her enthusiasm. She's not afraid or hesitant to express when she loves something. She's a warm person who wears her emotions on her face, and that attracts him. I think he fell for her from the moment she scattered ashes across his head with such a look of horror on her face. Although I'm not really sure he needs a reason. Sometimes people just fall in love without much of a reason that others can understand. :)
Yes, I could see myself dating a younger or an older person. I'm light-hearted and youthful, younger than my actual age, so I would either keep someone young or be a good fit for a younger man.
Love your article. It's a topic I've been thinking over a lot lately. When done right, the age-gap dramas make some really good points that a difference in age doesn't really matter.
I probably shouldn't be laughing, but this show is hilarious. It's worth it just for Suda Masaki alone, but despite the incredible character flaws in Eight's personality, I still almost pity him since it's Kento Yamazaki. I hope he gets a happy ending that doesn't involve ruining the lives of so many other people. I'm only on episode 4, so we'll see.
