very entertaining!! this is like watching a high quality action-packed movie (with a supernatural element) but in a drama format. an ensemble cast drama, most actors show up in a few eps and disappear for whole eps (story is told in a non-linear fashion) so be prepared in case you only want to watch this drama for a specific actor/actress . out of the whole cast, I think RSR, HHJ, and the 2 students have more screen time.
one of the few recent dramas that deserves its MDL rating (currently 9).
This was not an open-ending, this was not an ambiguous ending left to interpretation. This was an unfinished story. It's like reading a book but find out that the last chapter is missing and nowhere to be found...
This drama had 3 main leads for me: Rose, her brother, and her best-friend. These 3 characters were well developed…
Rose's 1st and 3rd romances, as well as her scenes with the 4th cutie instructor made sense but her 2nd romance screamed red flags to me from the moment he started following her around and manipulating her environment to make his presence known. As a woman, his early actions behind her back made me fear for her safety, instead of finding anything remotely attractive in him. It's normal to try to meet someone you like and introduce yourself, but his actions were too calculated/cold thinking, nothing romantic or passionate about it. Also, in my humble opinion, casting choice for that specific role was not right.
This drama had 3 main leads for me: Rose, her brother, and her best-friend. These 3 characters were well developed script-wise, had most of the screen-time, and were interesting to watch due to solid acting by the 3 actors. Storyline gets a bit melodramatic at times but overall I enjoyed it! Watch this drama if you're looking for a slice of life. Although drama follows the main leads romantic lives, it's not the typical romance drama centered solely around a definitive FL and ML.
This is a female centric drama based on a female centric novel. The story is about Xiao Yao so, as a reader and…
I don't think anyone in that fictional world is the right person for him since he signed up to a su*c*de mission. he's very aware he will die in battle sooner than later (confirmed by the fact he asked the king for a mountain to bury the dead's ashes and not for a mountain where the surviving rebels can live). no one in their right mind would start a love story with an already doomed man. FL probed him, asked if he would consider another path and he clearly said no. I think she loves the man she ended up with. he's not just a safe choice, he's also a choice from her heart. her heart that also has the longing memory of that attractive demon in it...it's not incompatible in my humble opinion :-)
They actually veered the novel's storyline off course from Ep11 onwards just so they can continue to insert the…
I didn't expect the drama to be an exact minute by minute copy-paste of the novel so watched it with an open mind. But they really lost me at that episode...I dislike that change in the storyline because it diluted the important events that happen afterwards. There's much meaning and depth that was missing in the last episodes because of that change. I was really expecting those scenes so it was a let down for me, anticlimactic.
I think the drama was entertaining to watch overall but FL and all MLs are much more interesting individuals in the novel, each one of them messed-up in their own unique ways :-)
I did myself a favor and waited until S2 finished airing to watch the 62 episodes drama in one go. I read the…
This is a female centric drama based on a female centric novel. The story is about Xiao Yao so, as a reader and then a viewer, I paid more attention to her past, trials, hurts, heartaches, and aspirations. Due to her own psychological baggage, FL very clearly said many times to everyone who wants to listen what she wants from life. Only 1 of the male characters was willing to share that type of life with her so it's a no brainer why she chose whom she chose. She even asked her "dangerous crush" if he was willing to lead a different life which he declined, sadly.
It doesn't matter which ML character was sexier, prettier, more assertive, more present, more sacrificing, more protective etc etc. It doesn't matter who did more for her (we know but she doesn't so it doesn't count in her choice! ). What matters is she asked for a lifetime companion in a quiet simple life and only 1 said yes.
I did myself a favor and waited until S2 finished airing to watch the 62 episodes drama in one go. I read the novel a few years ago so already had an established opinion about the characters, which didn't change after watching the whole drama. I think this drama would have benefited to be aired back to back but local restrictions didn't allow them to and streaming platform maybe wanted so much to bank on its popularity 2 summers in a row that it did the drama a disservice.
I'm disappointed that they changed the novel's storyline from episode 20 in S2. Not sure why they did it but from then on, drama lost many points for me. I guess this change won't impact your viewing if you didn't read the novel prior.
The very nice surprise when you find out that a hyped/trending/highly rated drama is actually worth ALL the hype and more :-) The humour was unexpected but one of the highlights of this drama for me!
An interesting drama with a good quality production and stellar acting! Didn't read the original novel so didn't know what to expect but the 2 storylines, FL crime investigation and FL married couple issues, were interesting to watch side by side and to see how one impacts the other. The characters are all flawed. As viewers, we're left to decide who holds the moral high-ground and who's to blame. a story well-told, well-filmed, well-styled, and well-acted. All good points in my book.
If anything, watch this drama for the acting. Just when i despair watching cdramas with wooden faces and child-like interpretations, I find hope in a seasoned cast who knows what they're doing!
Hi, i watched up to 31 eps on mewatch.sg (the only eng-sub eps they had uploaded when I was watching) but had to switch to an unofficial website for the remaining eps to finish it. They may have uploaded all on mewatch by now. good luck!
I watched the 40 eps uncut version. This is the best Thai drama i've watched so far. FL is very lovable, ML is a cutie ancient man. She stormed into his life from the future and he accepted it with an open mind. No one tried to force no one into anything (a nice surprise for a lakorn).
FIRST: This drama's script is a mess. at one point, I thought I was watching a wuxia because only someone who mastered qinggong can fly and land safely on a cliff's edge...even in a light fluffy romcom that doesn't take itself seriously, we need some kind of basic logic to make it believable. I checked the scriptwriter's profile page in MDL and apparently this is their first fiction work. I think they should find another hobby :-)
SECOND: I watched this drama because i like lee junho's acting (even with this script, he did the most with what he was given) and he's Absolutely Fantabulously Gorgeous in this drama!!
In my humble opinion, watch it for a visually pleasing cast, leads good chemistry and for nicely filmed kiss scenes. but first, lower your expectations to the minimum and switch off the thinking part of your brain :-)
I watched kim young kwang in a few other dramas but this role made me actually "see him" for the first time. sometimes an actor needs a specific role to finally shine and this was the role for me. This is a good drama, a melo-romance between 2 unhappy souls. However, it's very slow paced so watch it if not looking for exciting entertainment, or even better, watch it on a lazy sunny summer weekend :-)
One of the best written FL characters I've watched in a Kdrama! This smart, pretty, ambitious, successful woman with her human flaws, kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. I may not agree with all the choices she made but I understood her (and that's because script was solid and acting was on point! ). If you're looking for a well written script, with consistent characters and an intriguing story, you can't go wrong with Misty. There's no fluff here, it's intense all the way :-) For a mature audience in my opinion.
Please can MDL not become another gossip site :-( ( This website is one of the last ones where we can avoid useless gossip about celebs private lives. Let's stick to drama /movie casting and release updates and who won what acting award news etc., please.

Excellent drama!! A good script met a good cast and Voila: perfection! Sometimes, when I watch several sub-standard dramas in a row, i wonder why I like KDramas so much. But then I watch this and remember that it's because of gems like this one.
I don't have a Youku VIP membership. Can you tell me what happens in the special under a spoiler tag?
you can see both CY and WZF working together on a case which means that WZF didn't die and they're still friends. It's a short video but it gave me closure :-)

my man from Secret Garden with my man from Padam Padam with my man from The Glory...
