Just finished, binged it all in two days. All I can say is I will never move on from this.
Perfected chemistry, raw and realistic writing, natural dialogue, mindful representation of depression and mental health issues, amazing acting, passionate kisses, stellar music choice, incredible editing, jaw-dropping cinematography and color-grading. This is only the third ten I’ve rated so far on this site and it is so well-deserved.
My standards rose yet again. Absolutely unmissable series.
That’s exactly my complaint. Every episode had the same exact formula with the same dynamic between the couple, no actual plot progression where it matters. It was one of the most interesting premises in BL and they completely fumbled the landing.
I was vaguely interested in Tun and Tess, and what their fight was about and whether they’d resolve Tun’s feelings for him. If it wasn’t properly wrapped up, I wouldn’t have continued the series. So the person incorrectly telling me they got together was the only thing keeping me going through the last half of the series, all for nothing.
The pain when I finished the final episode and realized they were wrong. 💀
I'm not getting the feeling that he's uncomfortable being paired with joong because they do have chemistry, its…
He really does have a lot of charisma out of the role, and they have some chemistry. Not sure why he freezes up when it's filming time, but I think with lessons and if he puts his heart into it, he can get better.
Same! Initially when this series was airing back in 2021, i remember watching up until episode 6 then for some…
Right? The first time I was watching Bad Buddy, I was just waiting for something big to happen to catch my attention. I was like, 'alright, but when does the plot start?'
But with My School President, I just enjoyed the ride, despite there being little plot to go off of. The joy was watching the characters interact, the day-to-day progression of their relationship, and the chemistry of the actors portraying them. Seeing Bad Buddy in that light makes it almost an entirely different show, you just can't be impatient with it or expect lots of drama when that's not what it's trying to offer. You gotta sit back and enjoy the little things.
I need to make an appreciation post for Net’s acting, because holy shit.
The way his breathing speeds up when he’s turned on or angry, his ability to switch from big lovey-dovey doe eyes to sly and seductive gazing, how he somehow perfected that on-the-edge-of-tears look of anxiousness without it seeming fake or exaggerated. Not to mention how understated and natural he’s capable of being when not much is going on in the script.

Yeah, I don’t mean to say he’s uncomfortable with Joong specifically. I just think he’s having trouble getting into his character altogether, he brings absolutely nothing and doesn’t embody even the most basic of emotions.
Dunk is terrible at acting, period. I understand some of the criticism sounds mean, but it’s an industry, and he’s flunking at it hard. He’s a grown man and doesn’t need to be coddled and defended.
His smiles are just plain awkward and insincere. His line delivery is awful. He seems generally uncomfortable in the role, he’s giving zero energy, and he freezes up like it’s killing him inside every time he has to kiss.
It really is a shame Joong got paired with him. He’s so much more talented and it shows. All I can say is I hope he improves.
Jade was a pain in the ass sadly... I hope they will let him play an actual adult in Middleman's Love instead…
I’m so burnt out on the trope of ‘submissive-stereotyped’ characters in boys’ love having absolutely zero personality that I actually prefer someone with a cartoonishly exaggerated personality like Jade.
He is annoying, but at least he’s not as boring as Uea.

This man is on another level. 👏

It just feels like it’ll intermittently have bad timing. And on top of that, they’re sloppy with grammar. It’s annoying.

Tess and Tun’s relationship left a lot of loose ends, so for me, it’d be more interesting to watch their story.
