That could be it, yeah. It’s ironic that there’s so much visual symbolism that goes into this series (such as the colors of their shirts coordinated to reflect their feelings) and yet it feels like it lacks any serious emotional depth. There’s a lot of complexity, but it’s shallow complexity based off details like that.
I almost feel like it’s too realistic? It is so hard to put my finger on it.
I'm bored. It's so slow. Objectively I know it's good, but I just don't love it. It's like with Blueming for me.
Absolutely agreed. I could see the production quality, the details, the amount of love and work poured into the series, but it didn’t translate into magic for me. The couple didn’t click and I wasn’t all that emotionally engaged in anything going on.
Blueming was the same way. So glossy and beautiful, and no flaws sticking out, but flavorless in an indescribable way.
What about the comments makes you scared to continue? It’s a nice series.
Personally, I liked the rest of the episodes! If you enjoyed it all the way up to episode eight, it maintains the same quality, so you probably will enjoy it.
Literally unwatchable for me. The only BL series I have ever dropped to date.
The entire thing felt so disingenuous, like the writers were trying real hard to make you cry and you could see right though it. Even the main couple felt really lifeless and formulaic.
I will never understand how people can hate a series like Never Let Me Go (criticized for its bad acting, lack of chemistry and incoherent plot, but overall above average for BL) and defend something like this to the death. The acting had me cringing out of my skin at certain scenes, there is zero plot at all and the pacing was putting me to sleep.
I wish people weren’t so negative about this. It was above average when it comes to BL.
It’s cute. Like a little baby mafia series with a much smaller budget and actors who are just starting to gain their bearings, but do a decent job. I felt chemistry between the leads, the music was nice and the cinematography wasn’t bad either. Some moments are silly, but how many BLs are out there without a few dumb writing choices? I’m willing to bet most of you suspend your disbelief for some of your favorite shows.
Then again, the rating itself is pretty good, so I guess the haters are just the loud minority. Still sucks it has to be that way.
no honestly the moonlight chicken one really threw me off, it just didn't make sense why they so obviously faked…
I definitely am not interested in a make out scene, but for the progression of their relationship as characters, it would have made more sense to me. It just felt like they were avoiding it a bit for some reason.
Seems like the consensus is it’s because they were underage at the time of filming Moonlight Chicken which is valid.

And his build is really unique, like his visible shoulder bones and the dip in his chest. So cute.
