So the only reason it ‘feels unfinished’ is because is ex shows up? She doesn’t get back together with him or break the couple up or anything?
That doesn’t sound like a big deal, just a glimpse of a plot point they couldn’t actually execute. As long as they’re together it’s as good an ending it needs to be in my eyes.
Can someone elaborate on whether it’s a happy ending without spoilers? From what I understand, there’s two of them. Is one the ‘true ending’ and if so, which is it?
I see a lot of Teh hate here. I understand it, but to be honest, I found it really refreshing to see a character who isn’t a fundamentally bad person but made a horrible mistake.
Teh has weak willpower and his emotions completely consume him. He gets tunnel vision, just like how he gave up his spot in ITSAY for Oh-aew blindly. I think that, figuratively speaking, we would all potentially be tempted into leaving our partner for someone who we thought is ‘perfect’— Jai represented that. He had all of the drive and passion for acting and directing sphere that Teh liked in Oh-aew, but that version of Oh-aew didn’t exist anymore. Jai represented his first love.
The perfect person doesn’t exist, though. Nobody is perfect. The Jai he thought he knew was largely a projection. His image of Jai is shattered and Teh realizes he threw away the love of his life for this man who never existed. I found it to be really interesting.
What Teh did, in my opinion, is able to be forgiven yet should never be forgotten. Oh-aew will continue to hold him accountable for it and Teh clearly detests himself for having done it. I won’t excuse his behavior, but I completely understand what ignited it. There is no reason for them both to live an unhappy life apart from each other. You live once, do not sacrifice your own happiness with anger and regret. Oh-aew chose to move forward with a compassionate, loving heart and that’s part of what makes his character so beautiful.
That’s my perspective, anyhow. Totally not faulting anyone who is ultimately unable to put up with Teh.
Overall really liked this, but it’s a huge shame RJ and Alex got the same treatment as the side couple in We Best Love’s second season. Just totally unsatisfying open ending for literally no reason.
Even Bai Lang’s annoying, violent sister got a whole damn wedding and they couldn’t give Alex and RJ one extra scene to show they’re together? One line of dialogue? Such a bummer.
Still one of the best. Toxic? Yes. It’s fiction. Many people are imperfect, that’s just the way it is. You’re either the type of person who can differentiate real life from fiction and enjoy yourself or you aren’t.
The sexual tension and NC scenes are still unbeatable and the acting is really solid. Production quality could be better, but for what it is, this show is so damn addicting and extremely memorable.
