depends what youāre up for ! both are light-hearted and fun with serious themes (lotfg tone got more serious in the second half and itāll probably be the same for the second) lotfg is more of a slow romance with two powerful generals, where the plot focus on getting justice wdbtd is fantasy, with an āevilā powerful ml (the real evils are the immortals) and the fl is a modern girl transmigrated who just wants to sleep and be pretty, the leads have a very fun dynamic iām watching both and enjoying them :)
Then Iāll be happy to see her volunteering in the armyās cooking sector once sheās back in serviceāthough…
why would she be a cook in the army when her skills are good enough to be a general ? isn't she allowed to cook for her beloved and be a general at the same time ?
And she's cooking and trying to sew in episode 20, but why is she doing that? He's not even a man in her family.
she loves him and cooking for someone (or sewing in their era) can be a proof of intimacity... she already gifted him sweets, fought next to him on the battefield, she just wanted to do something more personal and there is nothing shameful in doing such a thing if you're not forced to do it, in the novel he's the one cooking for her
IDK. This turned into a tropey drama. The story has gotten lost somewhere. HELLO? Anybody there? Did they accomplish…
i mean yes? the goal was to find anxi and get explanations from him, wether the reason behind his betrayal or the people behind him, which they did get... they were also planning to bring him back to the capital to innocent xiao jue's father but he got killed before they could... and also they ended up saving the city from yet another invasion so they did accomplish things
I wish they had less of Chu Zhao in the drama. I have nothing against the actor, but the character is just so…
iām not defending him (feel free to dislike him, thatās his characterās purpose lol) but iāll just say he mentioned before to his pretty bodyguard that he doesnāt need her to make excuses for him as he willingly picked the corrupted path, so it means heās actually aware heās no good person (and in the novel, heās actually complexing a lot as he was born out of wedlock and knows only by becoming a powerful villainās underling could he survive in his family, this part is present in the drama but less intensely) he yan is becoming more and more aware of his bad dealings but sheās just a good-hearted person and also sees his good sides (even if he doesnāt deserve it), to her all hopes arenāt lost for him, he can still go back on the right path so she encourages him to cut ties for good with his master, he yan is a true heroine haha
Does she really not know any arts or music? They go to the same academy after all right? I mean even some sime…
i believe in the drama she does as she studied at the academy with xiao jue, just probably isnāt that good at everything and also mentioned wanting to hide her identity from him !
I donāt understand why Chu Zhao keeps hovering around He yan when he is engaged to the prime ministerās daughter.…
because he treats people like chess pieces and he yan is the most interesting one on his table 𤧠i wonāt say more youāll have to wait for more episodes
When He Yan was training to be a general, she memorised scholarly articles but didnāt get any alcohol training?…
she mentioned she used to be a good drinker but she isnāt anymore (i forgot the reason she said tho) and i agree itās dangerous haha, every time she got drunk itās not because she wanted it but her emotions took over her š (could be a way to deal with what happened to her)
I don't think people are saying this because of her portrayal but rather because of how pretty she looks even…
some said that because of her characterization and iām replying to them in particular haha. for the physical apparence honestly i donāt mind if people donāt feel convinced, i love this genre too and i was never convinced by anyone except for one actres : https://kisskh.at/people/22418-xing-en who often plays men roles. to me, (and at least) the distinction between when he yan is dressed like a man and like a girl is actually very clear and different. the chinese audience is also absolutely convinced. as i say, she could pass for a girl with boyish charms but then also as a boy with feminine charms, because among others men she does look petite and frail but she doesnāt look out of place. but again, thatās my personal opinion and weāre free to have different opinions !
So, I have read that the situation leading to the ML and FL receiving the marriage decree from the emperor happens…
i might remember wrong but basically chu zhao wanted to forge a new path for he yan, where she could be a woman freely (ignoring her wishes to keep it a secret lol) and wanted to take down xiao jue at the same time (killing two birds with one stone), because having a woman in your army is forbidden and pretty much equivalent to lying to the emperor. as the commander, xiao jue would be the one punished (and likely killed) while he yan with all her contributions to the empire, would probably only receive a light punishment and leave unscathed.
with xiao jue no longer in the middle, chu zhao probably thought he would also be able to marry he yan. but he didnāt expect xiao jue to beat him to it and actually reveals things himself in front of the emperor, leading to the marriage decree.
