Oh dear , tbh in this position ML is not wrong. What he can do, he uses her for the country. Even though he lies…
to me, it is ok to use her for the country, but if he needed her help to fake a married couple, he could have just tell her the truth from the beginning. since she got harmed by the bandits, even if she didn't have her memory, she would have helped him 100% because he saved her. but instead since he wasn't sure how she would react, he took the coward way and made up a massive play to catch his enemy, deceiving her again and again, using her amnesia against her, abusing her feelings, making her waste time with a whole porcelain shop. again, this is all for the drama plot, if he had tell her the truth from the beginning, everything would be different and not as interesting. i enjoy xingzhou character because that's the thing about him, he's a prince, smart and good-hearted when it comes to war and politics, but a loser and a shameless coward with women (even with his cousin, he knows she's only seeking power from him but he was ready to marry her instead of properly breaking up his engagement with her. since he now fell for miantang and the war incoming, he just found a good excuse to finally get rid of her without making his mum too sad). so none of his actions with miantang are correct, it's just he still got principles and wouldn't go too far with this marriage play (even if he goes way too far in the novel). but at the end, he's still human and fell in love, getting caught in his own game. he didn't expect to adore her, unable to separate with her despite his poor attempts. which makes us, viewers, sympathize with him. but now she followed him to the north, the lie is getting deeper and deeper, the guilt is eating him away, and he can only blame himself for everything.
there is no love triangle dw, ml is 100% devoted to fl and that's the biggest reason of him breaking his engagement, the fl is strong and doesn't let anyone mess up with her until now
Do Chinese dramas always dilute the toxic characters in the novels for censorship?
can be the censorship yes but sometimes also protecting the actors especially if they have big fanbases (but we will never know which one it is), as they could get a lot of hate from playing toxic characters, so if they play one the drama will soften their personality or/and give them a pity backstory that can somehow "justify" the toxic behaviors... been seeing too many of my favorite novel morally-grey characters being ruined in drama adaptations
i think what i love the most about this drama is all the poesy, double meanings, well-written "quiproquo" (comedic misunderstandings) which make everything very light despite the themes (betrayal, amnesia, deception...). watching xingzhou, a selfish scheming character, slowly falling in love, from being in deny to slowly accepting his feelings, is delightful. from not caring about her at all and putting her in danger, to being jealous and trying to make miantang loves and understands his real identity. but nothing is working because miantang is a willful character. so our ml is now losing sleep, thinking about how to keep her close to him, while easing our fl's wrath for the very moment where she'll get back her memory. until now drama pacing is quite peaceful and it goes on pair with miantang "happy" state. in episode 10, xingzhou is getting in his first real dilemna and we can feel in the air the angst incoming, how everything is going to get more and more complicated for him from now on and it's somehow both sad and exciting. as a viewer i want miantang to know the truth but i don't want to watch xingzhou with another girl despite how he's treating the fl, which means the script is doing its thing lol.
episode 1 didn't really convince me tbh but each episode gets better and i find them very cute by the end of episode 4, i can smell all the heartbreaks incoming!
1. Who brought her to the hospital when she came back from past? (Where were her parents lol) 2. Also when and…
i believe she went in the river again as soon as she got out of the hospital, and she probably asked for help to get up and go back home since she didn't lose consciousness this time
I don't think it can be called obsession or unhealthyShe was entering the stadium, but still she went for the…
it's definitely not healthy but she wasn't in a situation where her mind is at peace so i guess it explains her anomalous behavior, even when she does back in time she's way too emotional but also it's understandable
