i'm rarely 100% satisfied with the ending of most of the shows i watched tbh (and not just asian shows but also western ones), as someone who loves to write and create stories, i'm guessing many of the script writers aren't just good or dedicated enough and when they start writing a scenario they focus on the first part a lot, a bit less or more on the second half (depends since some script writers are better at introducting and some others at unfolding), and just botch the last part either because they're not good at concluding (and we see how so many plot devices are often left unfinished, even some characters endings aren't mentioned) or simply lazy/tired and just want to finish the scenarios quickly, like to be done with it and move on to another one, writing scenarios for series is for sure a lot of exhausting and when it comes to the ending they just rush it (probably why some use several script writers) but yeah it's frustrating for us watchers who love a show and are left disappointed with the ending 80% of the time (and i have zero expectation with who rules the world ending, with the amount of things that need to be introduced and concluded and the number of episodes remaining, it's going to be rushed like crazy)

he used their marriage ceremony to get rid of his family, he knew they would try to assassinate them that day so he purposely let himself and his father be gravely injured to have the rest of his family sentenced to death (like in one strike everyone was gone except his uncle and son which were on his side), his father had no choice but to make him the king and died of his injuries, xiyun was really upset lanxi used their ceremony to kill his treacherous family and become king (especially without telling her beforehand)

watched this one in 3 days it was so gooooood

i’m guessing xiyun will reveal her identity in a crucial moment either because of her family tragedy or to help lanxi with his shitty family, i expect the revelation to be dramatic 😭

was finally able to watch episodes 25 and 26, our leads are so cute, really liked to see more of the others side characters, but it was too peaceful, definitely the calm before the storm 😔 (and we know with the previews it’s about to go down)

there is romance but it’s a slow one !

the novel and the drama are a lot different so even if there are few similar scenes, many changes were made, and everything concerning the male lead plot is only in the drama (i also wish i knew what's coming haha)

he never showed his face when she was in the palace he wanted her to find out the night of the wedding, she doesn't know the kid she met in the street and saved her from jail is the crown prince, he was always and still is dressed as a scholar and this is why she calls him sunbaenim, i'm guessing she thought she was picked as the crown princess because of her father and never imagined the kid she met in the streets was the crown prince (royal kids can't walk outside of the palace after all)

the first two episodes were such masterpiece, the shots (i like all these close-up shots), the details, the music (i will never get tired of moonlight sonata and the drama version is so beautiful), everything is so elaborate, i was completely captivated... and LEE JOON!! his character is so dark, charismatic, that suppressed power, his silent rage, his emotions are so raw (HIS DEEP VOICE)... the romance will be absolutely heartbreaking. and i'm not ready at all.. such a beautiful sageuk already, i can't wait for the next episodes

apparently the drama was supposed to have five more episodes i'm so sad

finally finished watching this one, got a bit of hard time getting into the first episodes but then i was totally into their chemistry after a few, really liked their romance, yang zi played well the character of a 23yo? girl, i wasn't too much interested by her family, second couple romance had started well but didn't like how they turned the things for them, wanted to know more about her musical career and also wished they didn't put a time skip at the end without including a romantic scene after their wedding but overall it was really cute! deserve its popularity without a doubt 🤍
