Pity the producers didn’t include the novel ending where the Hei Feng - Bai Xi couple had a son (who was nameless…
Aw that would have been amazing! Also hilarious about not naming the kid. Just finished rewatching and this added a nice touch I felt the end of the drama was missing.
This isn’t a drama, this is idol-fan / reverse harem / step-sibling / cute innocent girl vs multiple persistent men kink and fan service central! It feels almost wrong watching it. Turn your brain off, ignore morals and prepare for a cringe fest. I will say, everyone is outrageously attractive.
Just what I needed - sweet and dumb! This is very much one of those dramas where you need to turn your brain off to watch. The villains are comical, the plots are overlapping and the schemes are at an all time high. I enjoyed it for the most part - the misunderstanding trope got a bit long for my liking but for most of the drama, I liked our main couple’s brains and cooperations.
Didn’t enjoy this as much as the first season. Sending so many people to prison really didn’t make sense at all and the advantages of the hidden stages were way too steep in my opinion. I also don’t think they allowed them to play to their own strengths in the game; instead everyone relied on alliances rather than natural talent. Maybe it’s just that they didn’t get to show their abilities but the casting wasn’t as good as the first season.
Was holding off until part 2 aired because I didn’t want to be burned again like I was in Lost You Forever but here I am, the Yang Zi pull was too strong 😍
Ugh, it’s so good even on the 3rd rewatch…actually it might be 4th, I don’t remember anymore. 🤣 Was looking at the voice actors - it appears that Wang Xing Yue did his own voice acting for this role?
Listen, this drama was a 10/10 up until episode 34 when it took a swift nose dive for me. I felt that both leads became sidelined in their story, especially the female lead in the last episode.
She was so involved in the previous war efforts that watching her sit and pray on the sidelines felt very out of character for her. I get it, the woman had just given birth but she’s so crafty, I thought for sure she’d have some brilliant way of turning the tide like last time.
Shiyuan’s effort was appreciated but I felt we could have seen them work together to defeat the enemy and him accept her as a friend/sister after all the previous relationship drama.
I disliked the ending for Lady Yuluo, totally unfulfilling and lacking for her. Qiao Fan’s epiphany took too long. Wei Liang’s ending felt cruel and unnecessary.
I dunno, overall I’m not satisfied with the ending. It was cute to see Wei Shao become a total girl dad though, that was fun. Still, I’ll rate the rest of the show a 9/10! It is probably one of the best enemies to lovers cdramas I’ve seen.
If it follows last week’s episode pattern, Monday 26th May - episodes 28 and 29 Tuesday 27th May - episodes 30 and 31 Wednesday 28th May - episode 32 Thursday 29th May - episode 33 Friday 30th May - episodes 34 and 35 Saturday 31st May - episode 36
Right? (I’m trying to be good and not binge until it’s over)

(I mean, I get it, especially when it’s Liu Shi Shi but wow 👁️👄👁️)
